About this property

This end-of-terrace 18th Century cottage was originally a farmhouse in the peaceful Cornish hamlet of Trevelmond, a stone’s throw from the bustling town of Liskeard in south east Cornwall. With exposed beams and tiled flooring, this cottage boasts real character, providing a delightful and welcoming home from home for families or couples alike. Look forward to unwinding and relaxing after a wonderful day enjoying the Cornish sights in the welcoming lounge. With relaxation in mind this room is fitted with luxurious sofas for 5 adults, a 4KTV with Sky Q access and a delightful woodburning stove for those chillier evenings. Fast WiFi too for work access or to keep the children happy too. The new fitted kitchen is well-equipped with all the essential appliances for a break away, including a splendid range cooker, combination microwave oven, coffee machine and handy washing machine/tumble dryer. There’s even a wine cooler. Upstairs there are three bedrooms including two doubles and a single, each of which have been freshly decorated in a bright colour scheme and housing ample storage for your belongings. Pocket sprung double mattresses too. Directly opposite the cottage and patio area is a detached garden where you can enjoy a refreshing beverage in the afternoon sunshine after exploring the Cornish countryside or a beach trip. Both Downderry and Seaton are the closest beaches to this property and are within a 20 minute drive through the lanes. The market town of Liskeard hosts a wealth of independent shops from quirky fashion stores to vintage antique shops, as well as offering a selection of restaurants and pubs if you prefer to dine out. There’s even a railway station with direct travel available from London and Birmingham if you prefer to travel by rail. You can also travel by train from Liskeard Station to Looe. The coastal town of Looe is well worth a visit, with a picturesque port providing an idyllic seaside atmosphere, or head further afield to the popular cosmopolitan town of Plymouth with its theatre, aquarium and nearby beaches at Bovisand and Wembury. Outdoor adventures can be enjoyed roaming the spectacular Bodmin Moor, a remote heather covered granite moorland which is popular for walking, cycling and horse riding. See the Hurler’s Stones at nearby Minions. Create your own special memories with your loved ones with a stay at Thatchview Cottage.

Liskeard is an attractive market town resting within the south east region of Cornwall. Hosting an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, it makes a fantastic base for your holiday. Within close reach you will find the harbour and beaches of Looe, as well as the world-renowned Eden Project also being accessible by car. Enjoy a day trip to the town on Plymouth to uncover even more family-friendly amenities including the National Maritime Museum. Liskeard makes a grand base for exploring some of Cornwall's most popular attractions.

The only thing I would say is that the “ secure garden” isn’t secure as it’s across the lane and has no gate which was really inconvenient with 2 dogs. Other than that the cottage was lovely and location great

Everything you could possibly need was provided. I had to contact the owners about a couple of very minor issues and they were very helpful and able to sort out straight away. The only draw back was the parking which if you are a confident driver may not be a problem.

However upstairs was poor as there was extensive mould in various locations with a foul smell in the bathroom. The smallest bedroom was a health hazard with the worst mould around the skirting. Mould around the landing window was partially obscured with a 2018 four star rating!. We should receive some compensation.
