About this property

Resting in the West Looe region of the Cornish Town is Alexandra Cottage, a delightful, three-bedroom home. Just paces away from a hub of eateries, shops, and the shoreline, whilst complete with a designated parking space in a private car park, an enclosed, highly sought-after garden, and a charming interior, complete with original beamed ceilings, a woodburning stove, and flagstone flooring, the cottage makes an idyllic base for a family break; Alexandra Cottage welcomes six guests. Park up in the designated parking space and travel on foot to the home, before entering through the stable door and into the characterful sitting room, where you can relax on the plush, leather sofas, light the woodburning stove, and catch up with your favourite series on Netflix. Continue through to the dining room, designed for family mealtimes, which can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen, complete with an electric oven, induction hob, washing machine and dishwasher. If you'd prefer an alfresco affair, climb the external steps up to the suntrap decked area, where you can dine and watch the sun set over Looe. Return indoors to catch some rest, climbing the lovely wooden staircase, before arriving to three well-appointed bedrooms, including two king-size and a bunk room; all are serviced by a shower room. Awaken to explore the town on foot, with the chance to stock up on the essentials, sample some of the areas local produce at The Sardine Factory Looe, The Old Sail Loft Restaurant, and Catch, and stroll along the harbour; further attractions include the Old Guildhall Museum & Gaol, and the property is just a short walk away from the water’s edge where you’ll find a footpath and the ferry which will take you to sandy terrain of East Looe Beach. Travel north towards Liskeard, firstly stopping off at Adrenalin Quarry for a fun-filled day of axe throwing and zip lining, ahead of touring Liskeard Museum, or continuing further into the county to hike across Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve. Round off your break with a stroll across the Polperro Heritage Coast, reaching the harbour and the vantage point of Neadland Point, before returning home for sundowners. Enjoy a family getaway at Alexandra Cottage.

The quay area in East Looe, which is joined to the quieter West Looe by a seven-arched 19th-century bridge over the River Looe, is a bustling area with activity, recognised as second-largest fishing port. While West Looe boasts a wonderful view of the harbour, East Looe has a lot of tourist stores, small, cobbled alleys, and winding lanes. The quay leads to Looe's viewpoint, Banjo Pier, which is an excellent place to observe the departing fishing trawlers and gaze across the bay to Looe Island, which is occasionally accessible by foot during extremely low tides. Due to its wide expanse of sand and safe shallow swimming, family love the sandy Looe beach, which is adjacent to the pier.

Great location in a lovely quiet spot with the added advantage of a parking space. The cottage was beautiful and everything one would hope for and more. It felt very homely and was beautifully decorated and furnished. I loved it and have already started a holiday fund and hope to return soon.
