About this property

Nestled at the centre of the pretty, riverside village of Lympstone, Devon, rests this appealing, Grade II listed holiday home, Little Underhill. Set over four floors, this wonderful 18th century abode offers a wealth of tastefully-preserved, well-decorated interiors, as well as a plethora of appliances that will provide you and your loved ones with everything you'll need for a relaxing, self-catered getaway to the South Coast of England. As you step into your new home-from-home, be charmed by well-maintained living spaces, including a bespoke, hand-built kitchen where the chef of choice can prepare tasty, home-cooked meals for the whole family to be enjoyed in the adjacent living/dining room, either gathered around the dining table or perhaps on the plush sofas where the centrepiece open fire will keep you toasty while you watch a film or two on the TV. As day rolls into night, indulge yourself in a refreshing bath before retiring to one of three inviting bedrooms where you can rest and recover in preparation for a brand-new day. After you've savoured your morning coffee in the rear courtyard, be sure to take some time to explore your local area maybe stopping for some pub grub: choose between The Swan Inn, The Globe Inn or The Redwing or try a spot of afternoon tea at Susannah's Tea Room, or if you and the group are up for some exercise, perhaps a walk along the Exe Estuary Trail is in order. The cycle path will bring you to Exmouth one way or Topsham and Exeter in the other direction, close to the fabulous Darts Farm for shopping or refreshments. Exmouth is a short car journey south, home to the attractions of Exmouth Danish Fort and Orcombe Point. Take a boat to the River Exe Café from Exmouth, where advance booking is essential. A shorter drive in the opposite direction will bring you to Exeter, where you can roam the grounds of Northernhay Gardens or the narrow pathways of the Underground Passages. Bring the whole family for a memorable stay in Devon by booking Little Underhill.

East Devon's Lympstone is both a settlement and a civil parish. On the River Exe estuary, amid red breccia rocks and the discharge of Wotton Brook, there is a harbour. Locals are familiar with it for Peter's Tower, a riverbank brick clock tower constructed in the 19th century as a memorial to W.H. Peters' wife. The village is traversed by the popular Exeter to Exmouth cycling path, which draws commuters and business to the village's shops, cafés, and pubs. Nutwell Park, Exmouth & Orcombe Point Walk, and Crealy Adventure Park & Resort are a few of the nearby attractions. Exmouth and Woodbury are both three miles away from Lympstone.

Super comfortable, clean and spacious. The owners were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Location is steps away from the water, train station and pubs. Thank you for having us!

The home was very welcoming and warm and the host couldn't have done more for us. It was so sweet to have a small welcome hamper and drink. The fireplace was extremely cosy in the evening and location of the property was great. A few nice local pubs right on the doorstep for a drink, and the train station is a small walk away that can take you to either Exmouth or Exeter. Very much enjoyed the stay and would recommend to anyone. One piece of feedback, the heating system appeared to come on at random times and would recommend setting a programme. It was easy enough to turn off though.
