Cockwood is a small tidal harbour which has become a popular boating spot with summer ferries that journey to the sandy beaches of Exmouth and Dawlish – perfect for a day out. Walk into Dawlish Warren for a selection of places to eat, drink and shop. The South West Coastal Path also runs past the towns for you keen ramblers. Further afield, why not visit the cathedral city of Exeter, one of the most vibrant and historically interesting cities in England? A couple of miles north east of the town of Dawlish is Dawlish Warren, a mile-long sand spit at the mouth of the River Exe on the stretch of south Devon coastline known as the English Riviera.
