The enclosed garden and historical charm add to its appeal, although some guests noted the need for better cleaning and maintenance.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, though there were a few mentions of areas needing more thorough cleaning, such as cobwebs and dust. The overall impression remains positive, with an emphasis on the property's readiness for guests.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to walking paths and nature. It is described as peaceful and perfect for exploring Exmoor, with guests appreciating the remote setting and the ability to walk directly from the property.

Guests have commented on the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere of the cottage, particularly enjoying the log fire and heating system. The property is described as a 'home from home', with a comfortable lounge and good sleeping arrangements.

The cottage is equipped with necessary amenities and guests have noted the well-fitted kitchen and effective heating. However, some guests mentioned minor maintenance issues and suggested improvements, such as better lighting in the fridge and a more comprehensive welcome pack.

While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like a bottle of wine and flowers upon arrival, there are not enough reviews explicitly discussing the consistency of such gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that while these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.

This chocolate-box cottage was a perfect start to our holiday; a month back in the UK from Portugal. I've read some reviews suggesting that the cottage is not in perfect condition, and I get that, but to be honest with two young Vizsla sisters, it was perfect for our stay. Yes, the stairway to the main bedroom (in the roof) is tight but a cottage, parts of which are apparently four hundred years old, will inevitably present some compromises in terms of mobility. We loved the views from the garden, the access to the South West Coast Path and the fact that we had the garden to ourselves. We really liked the fact that the drive is about half a mile long. It made for peaceful nights and meant that our dogs were safe even once they learned they could hurdle the garden wall! We (and they) had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Plus, it was July in the UK and we only had to light the fire two or three times - so, another result!

Beautiful old cottage, but be aware that this place is NOT suitable for people with any kind of issues with balance or other disabilities. Due to the age of the cottage, the floors on the stairs, first and second floor are extremely uneven and there is almost no rails/bannisters to hold on to. Had we known how bad it was, we probably wouldn't have chosen this place as my partner really struggled to get around. But that said, we did have a wonderful time and the dog had the time of his life chasing his ball around the large enclosed front garden. Beds are a bit on the soft side, but quite comfortable.

Yenworthy cottage -outstanding location so peaceful when you need to get away from city life being allowed to roam the farm meant we didn't have to venture off the estate to walk the dog or use the car as you have access to the coastal path and on the moors ,we walked to lynton and lynmouth. Yenworthy cottage -outstanding location so peaceful when you need to get away from city life being allowed to roam the farm meant we didn't have to venture off the estate to walk the dog or use the car as you have access to the coastal path and on the moors ,we walked to lynton and lynmouth. The cottage itself has basic appliances but everything you need for your stay with a large open fire and ample supply of logs ,both showers worked well and master bed was comfortable.
