About this property

25 Yon Street is a charming, two-bedroom holiday home located in a quiet spot in the Devonshire village of Kingskerswell. This mid-terrace enjoys quirky décor throughout with funky artwork, colourful rugs and is just a short drive from a sandy beach and Dartmoor. Bring along your family or friends and park up in an off-road space before stepping inside to discover your new home. The living/dining room is an idyllic place to dine and unwind with a plush sofa, a TV, an exposed brick fireplace and dining seating to savour home-cooked meals. Walking through the property, locate the contemporary kitchen, which features a range master cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, and a washing machine for your beachwear. As the evening winds to a close, retreat indoors and head upstairs, where you can enjoy a hot rinse in the shower room and keep your towel toasty on the heated rail. There are two bright and airy bedrooms, a master with a double bed and views over the rear and a single bed which pulls out to make a double, with a TV to keep the young ones entertained. Outside, dine alfresco in the warmer months, making use of the enclosed garden, a tranquil spot to recline and cook up a storm using the gas barbecue. The village of Kingskerswell is a great place for a self-catered stay, hosting an array of shops, pubs and restaurants and has easy access to Dartmoor National Park for avid walkers. Just one point we would wish to mention which is the floor in the kitchen. There are some very pronounced loose sections in front of the sink and the cooker which we were concerned might break when stood upon. So we spent the whole time stepping over them where possible. Not easy when it came to washing up, filling the kettle or indeed cooking! We did raise the matter with Helen who simply said it had always been like that. Whilst that may be so it was a little worrying.Would hate future guests to have a problem. Having said that we would stay there again as the property otherwise was delightful.

However when we arrived Helen was at a loss and didn’t realise we were booked so the cottage hadn’t been cleaned and beds changed. She gave us the key code and came along quite quickly to sort out the cleaning. She couldn’t apologise enough and soon had everything sorted. As I said cottage was really good and well equipped - just communication between Sykes and cleaners could be improved
