About this property

This charming three-bedroom cottage, Sea Croft, is situated in the lovely village of Instow, near the market town of Bideford, Devon. Benefitting from dog-friendly living, an enclosed courtyard and close proximity to the local amenities and beach, Sea Croft welcomes six guests to enjoy a relaxing getaway near the North Devon Coast. After parking up, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home, ready to delight a cup of tea and put your feet up in the quaint sitting room, complete with Smart TV and electric flame-effect stove, ideal for those cooler evenings. Get to grips with a range of appliances in the well-equipped kitchen to whip up a culinary delight for the whole family, to be enjoyed either at the dining table or outside in the enclosed courtyard. Soak in your coastal surroundings as you pop open a bottle of fizz, chatting away as day rolls into night. The bathroom on the first floor is fully-fitted with a superb tub where you can indulge in a soak after a long day, and each of the lovely bedrooms is conveniently adorned with plenty of storage for your holiday wardrobe. If you can tear yourself away from this splendid base, venture into Instow, situated on the banks of the River Torridge, which boasts stunning views of estuary landscapes, attractive beaches and seemingly-endless attractions. Relax upon Instow Beach with a good book and famous Hockings ice cream, enjoying fantastic views of the unspoiled coastline. Cycle along the nearby Tarka Trail, explore numerous local dog walks or try your hand at a range of watersports at nearby Westward Ho! Beach if you're feeling up to it! Spend the day in the popular town of Barnstaple, home to the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon, or take a trip to the famous Exmoor National Park, perfect for horse riding, hiking and cycling! Whether you want to explore the stunning beaches, try water sports, or simply admire your surroundings, Sea Croft has everything you need and more.

Instow offers a tidal, sandy beach and extensive views with the sails of catamarans and windsurfers. An abundance of cafes and pub/restaurants all enjoy these glorious views, and just across the mouth of the River Torridge, at Appledore, you will find more gift shops, delis selling local produce and arts and crafts stores. Take the ferry across on foot or bicycle and enjoy pleasant walks along the south-facing quay. A 15-minute drive can also get you there for an afternoon of delights. Try fresh, locally caught seafood in one of the restaurants and sample a taste of Hocking's Ice Cream; a family-run business selling vanilla ice cream from their own vans found only in North Devon. The market town of Bideford is close by along with the cobbled streets of Clovelly. North Devon boasts some beautiful beaches, all within easy driving distance including Westward Ho!, Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton. A wonderful base to choose for your next trip.

On saying that, more than ample room for us and our two dogs. Listing was exactly as described on website. Lots of useful information regarding nearest supermarkets, petrol stations, attractions etc. Location to local pubs and beach was brilliant, literally 100 meters to the pub and a little further to the beautiful beach. We enjoyed eating at the Wayfarer pub where the food was lovely and the staff friendly. Property within easy walking distance to tarka trail, and we enjoyed our out and back walk along the trail to Bideford. Nice gesture to leave tea , milk , coffee etc for new arrivals . My only suggestion would be to consider finding space for a freezer as this could be helpful for bigger groups or families.

As there was five of us staying lounge seating was limited, we did find it difficult to warm the house as it appeared only one radiator was working but the electric fire did help and the weather was exceptionally windy. We would be happy to stay here again.
