Ms Jolliffe
Lovely clean cottage, in a great location. We appreciated the small touches like a tea set and biscuits laid out for us on arrival, and some wood ready-split to be burned in the wood burning stove etc. The shower has good water pressure and the beds are comfortable- the heating works well and the place gets cozy quickly on a chilly day if needed. The freezer compartment in the fridge didn’t really seem to work (everything melted or went soggy) so just bear that in mind if you’re stocking up on ice cream or ice before you check in! Overall a really lovely stay, and Appledore is a beautiful place to relax and take in the sea views.

The cottage was lovely, set in a quiet tiny street and very easy to drop down to quay etc. Johns the deli, cafe and food store a great resource around the corner. The fresh fish shop nearby also brilliant! Great base to explore some beautiful North Devon places which was lovely. This time it included Hartland Abbey, with it’s lovely walk down to a remote cove, Putsborough Beach (alongside Woolacombe) and the gorgeous gardens of a Marwood Hill with its ponds and natural gardening style.

The cottage is in a good location and Appledore is lovely with nice places to eat and drink. We spent a lot of time on the beach at Westward Ho! which is amazing. The dog had the best time.
