Guests say

Admirals View is a well-kept cottage in Lyme Regis, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and lovely views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space and welcome pack, though some noted the steep walk from town and suggested improvements for seating and kitchen facilities. Despite a few maintenance issues, the property offers a pleasant stay for families and groups.

The property is generally described as immaculate and very clean, with multiple reviews affirming its tidiness. However, one review mentioned a smell in the downstairs toilet and hairs in drawers, slightly affecting the score.

The location offers lovely views and is within walking distance to the beach, but several reviews mention a very steep hill on the return journey, which may be challenging for some guests.

The beds are noted to be extremely comfortable and the property is suitable for families, though seating in the lounge is limited for a full occupancy of six adults, affecting the comfort score.

The property is well-equipped, but feedback includes suggestions for additional kitchen items and mentions of maintenance issues such as a broken chair and a non-working DVD player.

Guests were delighted with the welcome pack, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed and there were minor suggestions for additional items, the score reflects this.

This house was not as it is advertised on the website. It is not semi detached, it’s a mid terrace. There is carpet in the downstairs toilet which smells very strongly of urine, the decking was rotting, dirty and there was rubbish accumulating beneath it. The property is generally run down and there were hairs in the drawers. We did not complain whilst we were there as it was only a three night stay and we did not want to be disrupted so I cleaned the house, shut the downstairs toilet door and decided to make the best of it. On our return, I contacted Sykes to complain that the property was not as advertised, only to be told that because we did not raise these issues to be resolved whilst we were away, there was nothing they would do. My complaint was that this property was misrepresented. Any action by Sykes to resolve this issue whilst we were away would have been hugely disruptive to our holiday and, in the case of making it semi detached as advertised, impossible. We paid well over £1000 to stay here for three nights and chose a holiday home because we do not like to be disturbed. We expected a far better standard of accommodation, and customer service, than we received.

Non-stick pans in need of replacement. The DVD player didn't work.
