The hamlet of Wigpool sits within the mature woodland and nature reserve where you will find natural wildlife ponds and wild ponies roaming free. The vibrant village of Mitcheldean is at the bottom of the hill and is well served with a village store. The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley have plenty to offer with cycle trails and down hill courses, abseiling and caving at Symonds Yat rock, canoeing and a high wire rope course. Also, within easy access is The Secret Forest, a beautiful woodland now reclaimed by nature, and Clearwell caves, a great underground experience with nine caverns for you to explore. On rainy days there s also plenty to do from museums to caves or spending some time riding a steam train through the forest.
