About this property

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS THE DOWNS IS MARKETED AS A SLEEP 6 PROPERTY FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY DON'T MISS THIS FANTASTIC OFFER!

The Downs is a lovely, modern country house in the hamlet of Awre and just 1/2 mile from the banks of the River Severn, where the river makes a large loop south of Gloucester, and just across the river from Slimbridge Wetland Centre.

The perfect setting for exploring this lovely area with your family or friends, and equipped and furnished to a very high standard. It makes a great base for exploring this lovely area with your family or friends. The spacious accommodation offers a welcoming 'home from home', with light and bright reception rooms, comfortable and well appointed bedrooms, a delightful conservatory and a generous patio and garden at the rear of the property, where you can soak away the day's aches and pains in the hot-tub (which will accommodate 6-8 guests), whilst enjoying the views across to the River Severn and beyond.

The property allows for partial ground floor living, with the master suite (super king size bed, flat screen TV, with en-suite facilities comprising of bath and separate walk in shower) being located on the lower level. On the ground floor you will also find a separate shower room, with walk in shower, basin and w.c.

Also on the ground floor you will find the games room - to keep the young, and the not so young members of your party out of mischief. This includes a table tennis table, table football and dart board.

Upstairs you will find 5 further bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins and 2 king size rooms - but please note that the 2 twin rooms are accessed through the 2 king size rooms) as well as a spacious family bathroom, with bath and separate walk in shower.

Outside, the huge garden gives plenty of space for families to relax and chill out after a long day of exploring the area around you. The patio area has plenty of space and features furniture where you can dine al fresco on balmy summer evenings.

To the north, and just 3 miles away lies the thriving village of Newnham-on-Severn, nestling on the banks of the River Severn. The village is steeped in history, and offers specialist shops to suit all interests, along with traditional pubs and cafes. This charming village, part of which is designated Conservation Area, has a tree-lined main street, many listed buildings, a striking central clock tower and is ideally located for watching the spectacular Severn Bore.

The Downs is the ideal location for enjoying a few days away with family or friends, in a stunning part of the country.

The games room and ground floor shower room are both new additions - we have not yet had the opportunity to photograph these facilities.

Please note: The Downs can be booked along with Rose Cottage (988917) to provide accommodation for 20 guests in 10 bedrooms.
