Guests say

Avalon is a well-regarded cottage in Brixham, Devon, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped nature. It's in a quiet, residential area, a short distance from local attractions and beaches. The property is family-friendly, with toys and games for children, and is also suitable for dogs. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with guests willing to return.

Most guests found Avalon to be very clean and well-kept, with only a few noting areas where cleaning could be improved, such as dusty skirting boards and a utensil drawer. The majority of feedback, however, commends the property's cleanliness.

The location is frequently praised for being in a good spot, quiet yet within a reasonable walking distance to the harbour and a short drive to local beaches and attractions. It is considered a great base for exploring the area.

Guests generally find the property comfortable, with nice furniture, good beds, and a secure garden. Some suggested minor improvements for additional comfort, such as more cushions on sofas and a small unit in the bedroom for personal items.

The cottage is well-equipped with a good TV, Blu-ray player, and kitchen amenities. However, there are several mentions of a shower in need of repair and slow WiFi, indicating that some facilities require maintenance.

While the reviews reflect a generally well-equipped property and mention of a Christmas tree adding a festive touch, there is insufficient information on consistent thoughtful gestures or gifts to guests to accurately score this category.

Had a lovely 5 nights at Avalon although there’s room for improvement. Pros; Off road parking, good size bungalow, location good, well equipped. Cons; Garden not suitable for our 2 year old to play in which is a shame as it was wasted space. Bungalow not cleaned well enough. Skirting boards/edges of carpet dusty. Had to move a bedside table for my sons monitor which clearly hadn’t been moved for a very long time. Crumbs in utensil drawer. Requested high chair upon booking - Took me half hour to find it (under a single bed) and was thick of dust which I don’t think is acceptable. Luckily there was a hoover in one of the cupboards so had to use that before wiping it clean to be able to use. Shower is very small and leaky/noisy/not very powerful. Husband is quite broad and struggled to fit in. This being said, would stay again dependant on price, but cleaning needs improvement.

    Helpful owners.

The property is comfortable and in a good location, but it is let down by the WiFi and Shower. With four people in the property, the WiFi was so slow. Router reboots did nothing to improve the situation. The shower needs fixing as well, with the controls leaking water down the wall rather than getting the water up to the shower head. The property just needs a bit of TLC in these areas.
