Pied a Mer in Aldeburgh is highly praised for its central yet private location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as the provision of deck chairs and welcome treats. While parking can be challenging due to local restrictions, it's manageable. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, guests are eager to return, indicating a delightful stay.
Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'extremely clean' and 'top quality'. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.
The location is frequently highlighted as 'perfect' and 'central', close to the beach, town, and amenities. Despite some parking challenges, the convenience of the location is greatly appreciated by guests.
Reviewers find the apartment very comfortable, mentioning a 'comfy bed', 'great shower', and 'good heating'. The repeated visits by guests suggest a high level of satisfaction with the comfort provided.
The facilities are generally praised, though there are comments about a non-functioning washer dryer and a tricky front door lock. The provision of non-stop hot water and a well-equipped property are positives, but the maintenance issues prevent a higher score.
The property owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of kind gestures like milk and biscuits on arrival. While these extras are warmly received, it is noted that such gifts, while delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.
This 1st first floor self-catering Aldeburgh holiday let is situated just off the High Street on Crabbe Street, very close to the beach and the owners have thoughtfully provided deck chairs so you can treat the nearby beach as your adopted garden. There's an open plan kitchen/living room, a bedroom (king size) and a bathroom, just the perfect size for two by the seaside.
The front door leads to a small hallway and stairs up to the first-floor open plan kitchen/living room.
Kitchen/Living Room
The living area has a three-seater sofa, a large coffee table, a TV with FreeSat channels, and a DVD player. But best of all is that view that we've already mentioned, it's a colourful medley of partial sea views, fishermen's boats, red brick buildings, rooftops, historic buildings, and shops. You can even see whether there's a queue to buy freshly caught fish from the black painted fisherman's hut on the beach.
The kitchen area has a granite worktop incorporating a breakfast-bar style dining area, with two high bar chairs and a wooden floor. Appliances include an electric hob and oven, a slimline dishwasher, a microwave, a fridge with a freezer compartment, and a washing machine.
Bedroom
There's a hotel quality Vi-Spring super king bed with White Company bedding including goose down pillows and duvet. There are bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a large built-in wardrobe and cream carpet. A large window looks out across the High Street.
Bathroom
There's a bath with a shower over it, a hand basin, a w.c. and a heated towel rail.
Outside
On-road parking can often be found in nearby side streets. Access to the beach is across the road on the other side of the pay and display car park.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

I was lucky to get the no-mans land to park for most of my stay but it still remains difficult to keep avoiding the traffic wardens. Bob's quick attention to the functions of the TV was much appreciated, although we never quite mastered it .

Accommodation was excellent but in the shower/bath it would be useful to have a âgrab railâ as there are only the edge of the bath and the door handle to hold onto when getting out. Very much enjoyed our stay - especially watching the team triathlon on the Sunday!
