About this property

This beautiful, quirky house is a dream for creatives and those who appreciate art! The property seamlessly combines both old and new, and is full of inspirational art and decorative ceramics. Nestled on a 15-acre private wildlife estate, with glorious gardens, Art Farmhouse is ideally situated for exploring the iconic Suffolk Coast, Southwold, Aldeburgh, Snape Maltings and beyond.

Art Farmhouse at Yew Tree Farm dates from 1594, and has been transformed by gallery owner, Monica into a stylish, comfortable, well-equipped house. As a Grade II Listed property, so much of the original house remains including original exposed beams throughout, yet it has been meticulously designed to offer a modern setting for friends and older families to enjoy.

Eclectic art adorns every wall, beginning in the stunning entrance hallway with a picture window providing stunning views over the surrounding gardens. A generous utility room features boot and coat storage, a washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes drying area, fridge freezer and french doors leading to the patio terrace in the garden. The large kitchen comprises an Aga Rangemaster with electric hobs and a double oven, coffee machine (bean to cup, or ground), microwave and dishwasher. The dining area has an open fireplace, there are two large sitting rooms with plenty of comfortable seating; one with a Smart television. The ground floor bedroom can be configured as a king or two singles.

To the first floor are a further two bedrooms, both comfortable king-size beds. The master benefits from an en-suite bath and shower room. There’s a library as well as a mezzanine seating space, and another family bathroom.

Every room provides a view over the surrounding gardens and acres of land, making this a perfect rural retreat for those who adore nature and wildlife.

Additional Information:

The property is not suitable for infants, children must be aged 12 years and over.

This property does not accept dogs.

Art Farmhouse is old and quirky, and therefore has low beams, steep stairs and hard floors.

The land includes open ponds and a river, so children (over 12 years) must be supervised at all times.

I fell in love with the photos of the Sweffling Art-farmhouse and couldn't imagine that it could be more beautiful than the photos....but it was. It rained nonstop for 2 days and despite the weather, it was the most wonderful getaway. Monica, the owner was incredibly generous, warm and welcoming. She was available to help us with whatever we needed. I cannot say enough good things about this experience!

Art Farm is very comfortable and exceedingly well appointed. It is spacious with plenty of space for our family group of 6. We appreciated all the artwork and pottery that adorned the walls and shelves making art farm very distinctive with a special ambiance. We enjoyed the space surrounding the farm and the various walks around. Snape Maltings was a great place to spend time and to browse in all the shops there with some amazing produce to be sampled. The owners were very attentive and helpful with local detail and information.
