You’ll be perfectly placed for exploring the Broads, with Beccles just 8.5 miles away, as well as the picturesque Suffolk coastline (13 miles).
The charming 17th-century property has been sympathetically renovated to celebrate its period features, and is decorated in a country-cottage style. The cottage is warm and welcoming, with a dual-sided wood burner between the lounge and dining room, as well as underfloor heating. The characterful lounge is a delightful place to unwind after exploring the local area, either reading a book in the armchair or watching the Smart TV/DVD. Adjacent to the lounge is the dining room, with a large table for enjoying dinner parties and countryside views from the dual-aspect windows. Completing the ground floor is the kitchen, which is decorated in delicate pastel shades and has a cute breakfast bar, and a utility room. The two inviting bedrooms and the family bathroom are upstairs. The garden occupies 0.5 acres and is a real haven of tranquillity, with pretty flowers, a large lawn, and a sunny patio with outdoor furniture.
Head into the historic market town of Bungay, just 5 miles away, to investigate the fantastic array of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants. Walnut Cottage is an exceptional gem of a cottage it every way. Leon and Mary have invested a heart into this well loved property that has created something truly special. The location in itself is just ‘wow’ as you draw up, the gardens are beautiful and the house itself a Suffolk dream. The renovation is sympathetic and high class. I spent many hours looking at the differences and quirks in the beams and ceilings while also enjoying the modern touches of underfloor heating and dishwasher. I was visiting family in Suffolk as well as working a day in Norwich and all were very accessible. My dogs were welcomed, not just tolerated and had a marvellous time. Both Leon and Mary were friendly and helpful in their contact. I really hope to return soon! Thank you for sharing this well loved property with us.

Just back from a relaxing weekend at the beautifully appointed Walnut Cottage. We arrived in the dark so didn’t appreciate the fabulous rural location until morning. On arrival we found the most beautiful cottage, that was thoughtfully lite by table lights. The cottage was warm, very clean and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bed linen, towels were of a high quality, also appreciated was the eco friendly cleaning products. The garden was huge and would look fantastic in spring and summer, but equally still beautiful in autumn. We walked the dogs around the farm and drove to the coast (which is around 30mins away) all in all a wonderful spacious cottage in a very rural location. Which is just what we wanted.
