About this property

There is nothing like getting together with the whole family. Whether it is for a special occasion or just because you have not seen each other for a while, Ravensprings is ideal. Prices are for 20 guests but the house comfortably accommodates up to 23 people and is in a fantastic location within walking distance of the centre of Brighouse in West Yorkshire. Leeds and Manchester are an easy drive away, as are the moors and countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Peak District National Park.

Ravensprings is a house where memories are made! The late Victorian mansion was originally built for the Mayor of Brighouse so is no stranger to a party, and with space for up to 23 people to sleep in eight bedrooms, you don’t have to leave any of your family or close friends off the guest list. The house is spacious and elegant, set back from the road in a residential area around a mile from Brighouse train station and within walking distance of The Beck Inn pub. Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome !

Brighouse started as a small settlement on the River Calder and is a great location for a holiday or short break thanks to its excellent amenities and proximity to cities like Leeds, Manchester, York and Harrogate. Quiet streets lead into a bustling town centre where there is an excellent weekly market, as well as lots of other independent retailers, cafes and restaurants, as well as two large supermarkets. Within a short drive from the house are a golf course, a large indoor/outdoor climbing centre, paintballing (with a discount offered for guests), horse riding, mountain bike trails, caves to explore and mile upon mile of footpaths crossing through both urban landscapes and beautiful countryside.

It can be difficult to arrange a holiday for large groups, but Ravensprings’ fantastic location makes it easy. If guests want shopping and nightlife then jump in the car and you can easily be in Leeds city centre within 20 minutes, or Manchester within 25 minutes. Those who like to be outdoors and active will love being close to the Peak District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, offering an enormous variety of footpaths, bridleways, mountain bike trails and excellent cycle routes, or why not hire a barge and spend a leisurely day navigating canals and locks. If history is your thing, visit Bronte country and see the home where the famous sisters grew up, or walk through the magnificent house and grounds at Harewood. There is lots of scope for touring the area, with charming villages and spectacular countryside waiting around the corner.

Ravensprings will welcome you whether you are celebrating a special occasion like a milestone birthday, enjoying an annual catch-up with friends from school or uni, getting in the last knees-up before your wedding, or just spending quality time with the people you love best.
