About this property

Settled in the Yorkshire Dales in the town of Skipton, rests this pleasant mid-terrace, Bob's Cottage. Enjoying a central location with easy access to amenities and attractions, this stone-fronted cottage is idyllic for both families and friends. Arriving at your holiday home, discover the sitting room, where you can unwind on the sofa as the Smart TV plays your favourite shows. Stepping through the property, locate the spacious kitchen/diner, hosting an electric oven and hob to prepare heart-warming meals, which can be enjoyed together at the dining table. Carry the conversation outside onto the rear courtyard and why not uncork a bottle of wine to savour a glass on the furniture? As day draws to night, head back inside and venture upstairs to find the family bathroom, with a bath to relax your muscles and an overhead shower to freshen up. When you're ready to rest your head, take your pick between two doubles and a single bedroom, where you can curl up with a hot chocolate and escape into a book. Awaken with a home-cooked breakfast at the dining table, as coffee is poured, and plans are made for the day ahead. A short stroll will lead you into the bustling centre of Skipton; here you can tour the medieval castle, stroll along Springs Canal and sample delicious eateries when you fancy a break from cooking. Lace up your walking boots to explore sweeping moorlands or venture into the market town of Grassington, home to quirky shops and Grassington Folk Museum to learn about rural life. Visit the heart of Yorkshire with a trip to the town of Harrogate, where you can relish a traditional afternoon tea at Bettys Café Tea Rooms, explore The Stray gardens to soak in the 1700’s or put yourself to the test at Parthian Climbing Harrogate. All this and more awaits at the charming Bob's Cottage.

Skipton, dubbed "The Gateway to the Dales," is ideally situated for exploring all that the Dales has to offer, as well as York, the Lake District, and the West Coast. This charming market town has enough to offer the passionate visitor, including an open-to-the-public castle, a wonderful mediaeval parish church, and a vibrant market occupying the cobblestone setts on either side of the high street. Skipton was rated Britain's "greatest place to live" in 2014, and among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East two years later by The Sunday Times. The Leeds to Liverpool Canal goes through Skipton, with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short distance, and steam railways with frequent excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis, and snooker are all accessible in the area, and the superb public transportation allows you to leave your car at home!

Parking was a bit of a problem due to non residents parking on road during the day. Both dustbins were full when we arrived so appeared previous occupants had not put them out to be emptied by the refuse collectors. Looks to have been recently refurbished and decorated. Bonus also of a downstairs toilet.

Everything you need.i would stay again. Put had issues with the shower had to put towels on the floor to stop the water. Because the shower water would hit the wall should be in the middle. And only used oven twice because it always set the smoke alarms off even with the doors open. The bins were full couldn't put rubbish out.and the wife fell back his uneven and needs fixing. Put its a lovely place.and would recommend it.
