Enjoy both the spectacular beauty of the Yorkshire Dales and the colour and history of the town of Richmond when you escape to this welcoming, single-storey holiday home. Situated in Hudswell, 2.5 miles from the centre of Richmond, the two-bedroom bolthole sleeps four guests and welcomes dogs with open paws. Complete with a wood burner for warming yourself in winter and a south-facing garden for taking in the views, it makes an excellent choice for any season of the year.
Open the front door of the cottage and head through to the kitchen/diner to unpack your provisions and brew a cup of strong Yorkshire tea. Enjoy it at the table with one of the freshly baked fat rascals you have bought in town. While away pleasant evenings in the lounge, making plans for the following day in the cosy glow of the wood burner. Find a film on the Smart TV or take your book through to the conservatory for a few quiet moments to yourself. Soak up the rural views out over Upper Swaledale from here as the sun sets. When you are ready to retire for the night, climb the stairs to the double bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room, or the king-size bedroom that can also be set up as a twin on request. There is also a family bathroom here. Have breakfast out in the garden on summer days and cook supper on the BBQ on balmy evenings.
Head into Richmond to explore its pretty streets, follow various town trails and ponder in its shops and eateries. Visit the castle, which dates back to the 11th century and captures impressive views out over the Yorkshire Dales. Stroll 1 mile from the centre of Richmond out alongside the River Swale to see the ruins of Easby Abbey.

A beautiful setting and well equipped cottage but not very suitable for guests who are elderly and/or with a disability. We found the duvets rather heavy. My sister and I loved the village with such welcoming and very helpful residents in a beautiful area. We had a good holiday.
Ms Scott
Great cottage in a wonderful location with every amenity you could reasonably wish for. The owners had provided all essentials for washing as well as a welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk on arrival. Jigsaw and games were provided and a great selection of books so even if the weather is unkind there was plenty to help relax. Good WiFi and a smart TV. Really great walks literally across the road for the dog lovers and the reasonably fit. Friendly pub across the road but only does food Friday and weekends. It was great to be close to Richmond and the facilities it offers but much more relaxing to be in a wonderful cottage on the very edge of the national park with amazing views across the Swale valley.
