There are lots of family-friendly features to ensure all guests can relax and feel comfortable. You're within a short walk of a pub, shop, deli, cafe and takeaways, giving you a choice of whether or not you want to cook. Bookings are available all year round, with short breaks possible depending on availability.

Denmark House is waiting to welcome you, your family and your friends for a self-catering holiday on the North Yorkshire Coast. Located in the pretty village of Hunmanby, the attractive Grade-II listed holiday cottage sleeps eight people in four bedrooms with lots of period charm and family-friendly touches. It's a fantastic place to relax and catch up with your favourite people, spending long days exploring beaches and countryside and evenings relaxing with a barbecue and a soak in the outdoor hot tub. The White Swan pub is only a short walk away, as is an independent butcher, takeaways, a supermarket, an excellent deli, and a cafe.

Hunmanby is right on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and a stone's throw from spectacular sandy beaches giving you a huge choice of footpaths and cycling routes that include the Wolds Way, Centenary Way, and Wolds Cycle Way. Like nearby Scarborough and Flamborough, Hunmanby had a medieval castle and you can see the mound on which it perched as you walk along Castle Hill. Its history dates back beyond the Domesday Book to Vikings, Romans, and Iron Age settlers. Although there are a few holiday cottages in the village, residents are predominantly local and you'll find a warm Yorkshire welcome no matter what time of the year you visit. As you might expect from what was once the biggest village in England, the amenities are excellent and you don't need to drive to enjoy a holiday here as there is a mainline train station.

The vast sandy expanse of Hunmanby Gap is just over two miles from Denmark House. It's often overlooked by visitors in favour of the better-known beaches at Filey and Scarborough. All of them are beautiful with different features - Hunmanby is very quiet and dog-friendly all year round. It has no amenities or parking in autumn and winter, whereas bigger resort beaches have traditional amusements, chip shops, and other amenities all year round.

Denmark House is very private and completely self-contained. If you need group self-catering accommodation near Filey, the owners have a collection of three cottages that can be booked together to sleep 18 people a few metres away. Please see their website for information.
