Hillcrest Avenue is a warm and comfortable cottage in Scarborough, praised for its excellent location and homely feel. Guests appreciate the helpfulness of the owner and the Ingris Flute team, and the property's proximity to coastal walks. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests eager to return.
The property is generally described as clean and tidy. One review mentioned a lack of kitchen equipment and an untidy outdoor seating area, but this seems to be an isolated comment rather than a common concern.
The location is highly praised for being peaceful and close to the coast, with easy access to lovely walks, making it an ideal spot for holidaymakers and particularly dog owners.
Guests find the cottage to be a lovely warm holiday home, with comfortable furnishings and a particularly comfy double bed. The property is noted for its homely atmosphere and updated areas.
Facilities are generally good, with some areas recently updated. However, there are comments about a broken key safe, non-working heating, and issues with the shower, which suggest room for improvement in maintenance.
While the reviews reflect a positive experience with the owner and the booking team, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

The house is in a quiet location, perfect for families. Has very basic amenities. Needs some updating in the bathroom. Good value for money.
Mrs Cockshaw
Great location, plenty of space, plenty of hot water and heating if needed. Price reflects that it is ***stars.
Mrs Marshall
The property is warm and comfortable for this time of year and in a very nice location with easy access to lovely walks especially for doggies. The property has been updated in some areas which are very nice however it is obvious that the walk in shower has been out of use for a whilst which wasn't a problem for us as the bath was low enough to step into and had a hand held shower but anyone not so mobile could have a problem . Once this is updated the bathroom will be good . We also had a problem when we arrived at the property as the key safe was broken and had to ring a phone no but went to answerphone . We were lucky enough to find where the key had been hidden and I have suggested to the owner future guests are advised by text or a phone call where the key will be if the key safe still hasn't been replaced to ensure guests are not left hanging around ,After a long journey this is not what you need and could easily be avoided. Other than these two problems we enjoyed our stay at 52 Hillcrest Ave
