Guests appreciate the property's proximity to the beach and local pub, as well as the ample outdoor space. While some guests mention maintenance issues, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment, with many looking forward to returning.
Most guests found Plas to be clean, with particular praise for the immaculate bathrooms and fresh bedding. However, some reported issues with cleanliness in specific areas such as the fridge, freezer, and settees, which suggests room for improvement.
The location of Plas is highly praised for its breathtaking views, easy access to the beach, and proximity to a well-regarded pub. The scenic surroundings and wildlife contribute to a highly desirable location.
Guests generally find Plas comfortable, with cosy fires, comfortable beds, and a warm welcome. Some concerns about heating and the need for lighter bedding during warmer weather slightly detract from the overall comfort.
The facilities at Plas are appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, several guests mention issues with maintenance, such as non-working showers and heating problems, which impacts the score in this category.
Guests have mentioned a nice welcome package upon arrival, which adds a thoughtful touch to their stay. It's important to note that such gestures are a bonus and may not be a consistent offering for all stays.
Plas is an impressive holiday house nestled in an elevated position above the stunning bay of Rhoscolyn on Anglesey. It boasts incredible sea views across lush countryside. In fact, they take in the coast of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula with the backdrop of Snowdonia - beautiful! You’re also only a short walk to the beach, and there is a gastro pub round the corner - you should definitely book it for your next group or family getaway in North Wales!
The main sitting room has splendid sea views. A woodburning stove sits in a fireplace with extensive seating around that acts as an inviting area both summer and winter. At the other end of the large room is a formal dining area with table and chairs, great for getting everyone together at mealtimes.
From the living/dining room, you can head into the kitchen which has plenty of room for prepping and cooking tasty suppers. It has a Rangemaster gas cooker, two ovens, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. There is plenty of extra storage in the pantry and larder areas. The utility room has a washing machine and dryer and a separate downstairs loo.
The separate TV room has a sofa and bean bags which is ideal for children and teenagers to escape to!
There’s also another sitting room with a woodburning stove and acts as a great space for escaping the crowds for a bit of peace and quiet. The views from the veranda are just wonderful.
On the ground floor is a bright double bedroom with en-suite with shower room with WC and wash hand basin. This room is ideal for anyone who finds stairs tricky.
Upstairs are four bedrooms, each with delightful views. Two of these rooms have king-size beds as standard but they can be made up as twin beds by prior request. The other two bedrooms are simply twins.
There are two family bathrooms, each with a luxurious free-standing roll top bath, WC and wash hand basin. One of the bathrooms has a shower, and there is a handy separate WC and wash basin, too.
There is plenty of space outside to make use of. There is a large lawned area with panoramic sea views with the mountains behind. There is a veranda, too and plenty of parking and there's even room for a boat.
As you drive up to Plas you cannot fail to be awed by its Gothic exterior! Inside original features have been retained where possible and whilst this is a large holiday house ideal for groups, there are more intimate spaces to enjoy, too. Rhoscolyn makes for a great base in Anglesey. Walks, sandy beaches, great eateries, activities and attractions are all within easy reach. Book it for your next group getaway in North Wales today!
Also on the same grounds are the holiday cottages Cabbage Patch which is next door and sleeps two. Just over the road is Plas Bach which sleeps two.
For a holiday made of memories to treasure, make sure you book a stay at Plas.
Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse rspb Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!
