About this property

Settled on the outskirts of the charming seaside village of Pendine, Carmarthenshire, is this wonderful three-bedroom house, 2 Gymmin House. Enjoying a fantastic setting within picturesque grounds and a rich history as part of the original Rectory of the Church for Pennine, 2 Gymmin House is a fabulous pet-friendly dwelling for a group or family of five. Leave your vehicle in one of two off-road parking spaces, before stepping into the porch to discard any coats and shoes. Upon entering you will find a utility housing a washing machine for your convenience. Look forward to impressing your loved ones with tasty dishes prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher, ready to savour at the dining table for five as you recount the day's adventures. After dinner, why not enjoy a stroll around the grounds? Return to the sitting room, where you can curl up on the plush seating and enjoy a movie night with loved ones, as your pooch takes up their favourite spot in front of the crackling open fire. Follow the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day with a soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower. When sleep calls, choose from three well-appointed bedrooms, a spacious double with built-in wardrobes, a 4’0 double and a twin with freestanding wardrobe, all ideal for catching your rest ahead of another adventure-filled day. Explore your local surroundings, where you can treat your loved ones to a delicious meal and local ales at the Green Bridge Inn, Springwell Inn and The Beach, stock up on essentials at the convenience store, or wander up to the scenic National Trust site of Ragwen Point, where you can soak up the exceptional views across Carmarthen Bay. For a fun-filled day at the beach, head over to Telpyn Beach, where you can bathe on the golden sands, paddle the shores, or take to the waters on your kayak or canoe. From here you can easily access the stunning surroundings of Colby Woodland Garden, a National Trust site spanning for 8-acres and set within an idyllic valley. Next stop is Saundersfoot, home to its own excellent beach, as well as the popular restaurant of The Stonecrab where you can tuck-in to fresh seafood. Within the town you can also enjoy leisurely strolls around the harbour with fresh fish and chips in hand, visit the historic Saundersfoot Lighthouse, or embark on a scenic hike along the nearby coastal path. Further afield, Tenby awaits, where you can marvel at the remarkable castle, enjoy more seaside fun at Tenby North Beach, test out your swing at Tenby Golf Club, delve into history at the National Trust – Tudor Merchant’s House, or peruse the local heritage and art displays at the Tenby Museum and Art Gallery. Add a touch of character to your escape with a stay at 2 Gymmin House.

A charming seaside town with a seven-mile sand beach that has been the site of numerous car races and efforts to break speed records.

Since its tragic death in a speed record attempt, "Babs" has been unearthed and restored to its former glory, and is now displayed in the local museum for all to see. One of Amy Johnson's many records flights took off on these perfectly flat dunes. These dunes are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and kite-flying all year round, thanks to their rich history. Pendine is the ideal coastal town, with a cafe, a grocery store, and a variety of stores selling souvenirs and food. Land of Speeds MUseum, which is located on Pendine Promenade, is also a Pendine landmark; the land speed record was originally set on Pendine beach! The nearby sights include Dylan Thomas' famed boathouse, where he produced many of his literary masterpieces, castles, sandy beaches, secret coves, and the busy coastal city of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the grand abbey a short boat ride away. This is a wonderful place to begin your exploration of Wales' most picturesque region.

!) Property comfortable and adequate for holiday needs. A hanging facility for clothes in the one bedroom would have helped a lot.

Weather wasn’t great this summer so we were very thankful to be in the spacious cottage. Only thing would say is that a guest book would be good to see where people who have visited recommended. And more utensils for a family of 5.

). Although we found it a little difficult to find it was worth it. Attached to the owners house which used to be the Old Rectory for the church across the road the accommodation is extremely spacious. Here is an enclosed field and garden for the dog. Pendines stretch of unspoilt beach is five minutes by car (roads are narrow & winding and not really built for pedestrians). Saundersfoot and Tenby 25 mins away. St David's is also worth a visit....so ideally situated. Clean and comfortable and private even from the owners! Could not recommend it enough!
