Moving through the home, find the shiny blue kitchen, here the chef of the group can whip up mouth-watering dishes with the electric oven and hob; afterwards gather in the dining room to tuck into a feast. The cottage offers a utility room with a washing machine to keep clothes fresh and from here head outside and climb several steps to locate the patio garden. When sleep calls, choose between three lovely bedrooms, two doubles and a small double, all with storage to house your possessions. Awaken with a cup of coffee in the garden in the morning sunshine before heading out on foot to tour this exciting town. Literary fanatics will be thrilled with a visit to Dylan Thomas' Writing Shed to see where the poet’s work came to life and the Boat House to soak in the family household. Laugharne is home to a magnificent castle and wonderful walks, so be sure to walk along the timeless coastal path to absorb the sights. A short drive will lead you to the secluded Telpyn Beach, the 8-acres of sprawling woods at Colby Woodland Garden and the exciting Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo. Embark on an adventure to the harbour town of Tenby, here you can tee up at the expansive golf course, unveil history at the Tudor Merchant's House and visit the remains of Tenby Castle. For much to see and do, escape to Moir cottage.

Laugharne, with its majestic castle standing on a low ridge overlooking the wide Taf River Estuary, is famous for its associations with the poet Dylan Thomas, and a visit to his Boat House and the writing shed where he wrote most of his works is a wonderful experience. Beautiful walks in and around the castle, with breathtaking views of the estuary, can be followed by cream teas in quaint little tea rooms, a drink in the local pub or shopping in the gift shops and mini market. The nearby sandy beach at Pendine is where many land speed records have been famously set on its seven mile stretch of beautiful flat sand, and a little further afield are the seaside resorts of Tenby and Saundersfoot. With walks in all directions, great days out at castles, mills and craft centres galore, this is a perfect base for all the family, at any time of the year. Close to bars and restaurants , but they can close early and are not open daily. If you are eating out, plan to go early. Poons is wonderful. Laugharne is a lovely unspoilt place. The cottage is on the main road through the village so there is traffic noise though the night. It would be useful if some basic cleaning equipment was included (washing up liquid, dish cloth, bleach and toilet brush) and a vacuum cleaner as a dust pan and brush was not adequate. A visitors information book would also be helpful.

The property was clean, very nicely decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed. The tea/coffee, Welsh cake and milk provided was a really great touch. We did have an issue with the hot water - sometimes it didn't get very hot, only just about warm enough for a shower - and we lost the hot water completely towards the end of our stay which turned out to be an issue with the fuse tripping. We rang Sykes support and the Owner sent someone around to help us out really quickly which was amazing, especially because it was New Years Day too! (the hot water fuse did continue to trip, every few hours or so, so the boiler probably needs looking at) Some other small suggestions that came up from our group were; a full-length mirror in one of the rooms would've been great, we felt bad leaving the bins un-emptied but we didn't know where to dispose of them so some instructions on that, and an outdoor light for over the hot tub. But other than the hot water going wrong we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the property! Thank-you :)

The only thing that worried us was the fact that there were no instructions to leave waste, recycling products. The hot tub was a real bonus,Would definitely recommend Moir Cottage to everyone
