Afon Wen is situated in Llandderfel in the beautiful Dee valley a short distance from Lake Bala. There is plenty to do in this largely undiscovered part of Wales, sailing on Lake Bala, white water rafting, kayaking and walking the peaceful hills.
The town of Llangollen with it's canal boats is a short distance away, and the world heritage site of Pontcysyllte Aquaduct makes an excellent day out. The historic Roman city of Chester is within easy reach and a little over an hours drive will take you to Liverpool or into the heart of Snowdonia.
This area is a foodie paradise with eating places ranging from a Michelin starred restaurant in the village of Llandrillo to the Rhug estate Bison farmshop and restaurant which serves amazing burgers.
