Clynnog Fawr is a small community nestled between the Snowdonia foothills and the pristine north shore of the Llyn Peninsula. It grew built around St Beuno's mediaeval church, which is one of the most prominent pilgrimage sites for visitors to Bardsey Island. A petrol station and a convenience store are available in the settlement. A stony beach, popular with beachcombers, is just a few minutes' walk away. Trefor, a little community surrounded by sea and mountains with views of Caernarfon Bay, has a harbour with stone breakwater pier and sheltered sandy beach that the Wales Coastal Path goes past, or the more brave can experience regular surf outside the breakwater. The Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and restaurant are located nearby in the community of Llithfaen. The charming seaside town of Nefyn sits on sweeping cliffs and has a lovely two-mile stretch of sandy beach, as well as a nice selection of shops, cafes, and restaurants, and an award-winning golf club that is popular with both families and couples. The attractive towns of Pwllheli, Abersoch, Caernarfon, Portmerion, and Bangor are all within easy driving distance of Clynnog. There are castles and coves dotted throughout the coastline, and fishing, sailing, and watersports are all available. The Snowdonia National Park, with its magnificent landscape and numerous excellent treks, is only five miles distant. This location is an excellent base for a trip to North Wales because of its proximity to so many attractions.
