Maybe our standards are higher than others who have rated it better, however, there are some things that need attention. Although the scenery locally is beautiful, the area seemed somewhat run down. The lack of parking was far from ideal but we have learned an important lesson from this - never again to book anywhere without its own designated parking. The house inside was lovely but we do not think it is truly dog friendly due to the stairs (down to the kitchen) but mainly due to the garden and the fact that the local area does not have anywhere very pleasant or green to walk a dog (if there is we didn’t find them and there was no information provided). The garden is not well maintained and there is no grass area for dogs. It is all paved or shingled, with some broken paving and weeds. Therefore we were not able to spend any time out there, despite the lovely weather. There is no dishwasher, which means the washing up needs to be thorough. Everything that we used for the first time was not clean and so we had to wash up everything we wanted to use and then only used that. The hairdryer wasn’t usable because the on-off button seemed to have been broken off by previous users. In all, although the house was generally well presented and clean, we would not recommend it as a dog friendly place to stay.

Parking may be an issue if you arrive later evening as we did - however in the 'guest' book local parking is advertised via a garage lock up - it would be great to be made aware of this before travel so that could be pre arranged - it would take away the only stress of the trip :)

Laura and Chris were brilliant at sorting out a small issue with a plug in the kitchen!!!! everything about this property and services were all 1st class would definitely recommend.
