The owner has lived happily with the bees for 8 years and they pollinate the flowers in the surrounding area.

Next to the cottage are the ruins of a church which was originally built in 1663. It was abandoned in 1879 and declared a sacred ruin in 1997. Grade ll listed Llechryd Bridge, 150 yards away, was built in the 17th century and is visible from the upstairs windows of the cottage.

Spectacular countryside and scenic walks unfold from the doorstep where guests even enjoy the free riverside fishing on offer adjacent to the cottage. This was our first visit to Wales to celebrate a birthday. This 2 bed cottage is situated in a lovely area with friendly locals.Lovely little hamper awaited on our arrival stocked with local produce.Have to reverse up the driveway off a very busy road, we missed the turn twice as it’s hidden.Nice layout downstairs, living/dining area then through to a kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with everything, but found lots of chips in the crockery and some pans were dirty. There were also condiments with old labels on so did not know how long they had been there , not a good idea to have these with covid about. The dish cloth and the dish sponges were old and smelly too, but we always take our own. There was an out place off from the kitchen with a freezer, microwave and all the recycling bins . Good place to keep all muddy boots. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms , we are tall people and one of the beds was very low so chose the room with the higher bed although our feet hung over it. The quilt cover had black marks on it and the room looked very tiered. There was a smell of cat wee in the bedroom , but this disappeared after a few days so not sure if it was coming from outside. The bathroom is a nice size with a good shower over bath. The bees nest is still there ( as mentioned in previous reviews) , just off the bathroom window and bees were coming in through the cistern. We saved them and put them out, but some people don’t like bees. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned on the outside ( hairs and urine present) and the toilet brush could do with replacing.Found the cottage very cold even with the underfloor heating. We did use the open fire a couple of times, but a pain to keep up with it as we both have knee problems. There was a note to use the central heating for an hour if needed , but had it on longer as it was freezing ( October). The area is lovely and the local pub/B&B “7 Stars “ up the road has lovely food can recommend everything on the menu and the portions are huge .We went on lots of walks and a visit to Poppins beach with the dogs was great.Cardigan town is a lovely spot with lots of different shops and cafes.

Nice cottage plenty of hot water and heating, real cosy and dog friendly, not keen on the dog flap in the door. Would recommend near to most places, local pub lacked atmosphere only visited once they seemed friendly.

We enjoyed our holiday, good location for exploring, the cottage was clean warm and comfortable only negatives were the noisy road an narrow drive, neither of which can be changed.Loved the peaceful garden
