Tucked away in the undiscovered Begwns there s heaps to do in the area should you be able to tear yourself away from the cottage. Pony trek across the hills pedal around the lanes stride out into the Black Mountains or laze a day away by the River Wye fishing rod canoeing oar or yummy local ice cream in hand. With 580 acres of National Trust Common Land surrounding you there are many walks on the doorstep with lots to discover including woods streams beautiful views and much more. From the top of The Begwyns it s possible to see nearly all of the Brecon Beacons a truly astounding view. For the energetic the Brecon Beacons National Park and River Wye have a number of adventure training providers from renting a bike or canoe to high rope courses and gorge walking. Hay-on-Wye just 5 miles away with Thursday market and global fame for its annual International Book Festival with plenty of second hand bookshops an art house cinema and independent stores. The area has a emerging foodie culture and many excellent pubs and restaurants are to be found.
