Llangynidr is a charming village set between Brecon (10.5 miles north west) and Abergavenny (11 miles to the east). The village is set on the banks of the Usk, with the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal rising through five locks nearby. Llangynidr has a couple of good pubs, a shop and a cafe, and makes a great base for walkers and cyclists exploring the surrounding Brecon Beacons National Park. Local attractions include the Blaen y Glyn waterfalls (11 miles), Tretower Castle (4.5 miles), Llangorse Lake (7 miles) and Cantref Adventure Farm (9 miles). There are plenty of picturesque towns and villages in the region including Crickhowell (5 miles), Talybont (4 miles) and Brynmawr (9 miles) all offering some excellent places to eat and drink.
