This former 18th century miner’s cottage provides a cosy and peaceful base with beautiful views from which to discover Mid Wales and Snowdonia. Explore local walks and watch the wildlife, visit the market towns of Machynlleth and Llanidloes, sample the outdoor activities of the National Park to the north or head down to the coast with its choice of beautiful beaches. Our family found the soundscape with "around the dusk and around the dawn" concertos (of sheep, cows, dogs, and birds) very eloquent :-) Positives: There were LOTS of birds of prey. Not chasing anything else but their prey and this was something I haven't seen elsewhere in these extents although there are "centres of birds of pray" here and there. These shows were available at least twice each day - just make sure that you can stop to enjoy the act!
