Guests say

Tregarn Cottage in Barmouth is praised for its stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and spaciousness, suitable for large groups. Guests enjoy the local walks, beaches, and the blend of old and new architecture. Some concerns over cleanliness and maintenance are noted, but the overall experience is positive, with many looking to return.

Cleanliness receives mixed reviews, with some guests satisfied and others noting issues such as a mice nest and rubbish left behind. The property seems to require more attention to detail in cleaning.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. However, accessibility is a concern for some due to the steep approach.

Comfort is generally well-received, with ample space and bathrooms. Criticisms include a lack of comfortable seating for all guests and minor issues with en-suite doors and blinds.

Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen, but there are comments about insufficient glassware, broken outdoor furniture, and a small fridge. Maintenance issues like damp patches and decorative order are mentioned.

While some guests appreciated a welcome pack with basics, others noted a lack of essentials such as cleaning products and toilet rolls. No mention of gifts was made, so it cannot be confirmed if they are provided or not.

We would definitely recommend this property, very peaceful and spacious, and great to have so many bathrooms in one property, we had a fantastic week and looking to book for next year.

Positives first. Brilliantly located with absolute quiet guaranteed- other than the birds and wind in the trees. Plenty of space for people to spread out indoors and bathrooms all over. Kitchen well fitted apart from 1 small fridge which had no room for all our food and drink. While the location was good for us you either need to use your car or be fit enough to walk very steep paths to get in and out of town. The walks from the house are stunning but again you need a level of fitness as they’re all up and down. Be careful of the 2nd hump in the drive as it can scrape underneath the car, I was in a Volvo V70 which is fairly low. The house itself had a few points which should be addressed apart from the fridge. While there’s an outdoor table and bench set there was no comfortable seating to relax and enjoy a book or the views - we had a family of 3 Sea Ospreys soaring in front of us every day. The patch of grass in front of the door was overgrown and untidy and the gravel sitting area had plenty of weeds - nothing major but just gave the impression of not caring and it looked a bit tatty. There were also a few minor cleanliness issues indoors. We had a great week and it is an amazing location, great walks and peaceful while only being a few minutes car journey or 20/25 minute walk into Barmouth.
