Llanberis, one of the most well-known mountain tourist destinations in the Snowdonia National Park, is dominated by the magnificence of the Snowdon Massif and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris. Due to its location as the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, Llanberis is actually somewhat of a hotspot for walkers and climbers. There are numerous paths to the top that can be taken on foot or by train through the Snowdon Mountain Railway. The world's toughest triathlon, the fast Snowdon Race to the Summit, which takes place every year in July, and the gruelling 26-mile Snowdonia Marathon, which takes place in October and circles the Snowdon Massif, both draw large crowds to the region each year. Mountain biking, open-water swimming, and stand-up paddle boarding are other popular activities in the region. There are several outstanding restaurants and bars in Llanberis, as well as a wide variety of stores. Caernarfon, with its spectacular castle and town walls, is only 7 miles from Llanberis on the shore. National Trust estates at Penrhyn, Plas Newydd, and Bodnant Gardens are all nearby.

Bedrooms were spacious and tastefully decorated, the bathroom has a lovely bath and walk in shower. Kitchen was well equipped, a tin opener, another rack in the oven and some more baking trays would make it perfect. As it was Christmas we cooked a lot, hence the comments. Lovely cosy lounge nicely furnished, Christmas tree was a nice touch. TV was on the small side, weather was awful during our stay so we made use of all the facilities. Rachel and David were very helpful, we would highly recommend the cottage.

close to town and on main walking routes to Snowdon, just around the corner for the start of Snowdon marathon, which is the main reason we stayed as I was running that. Owner very helpful with requests. Will stay again for a walking holiday

The property had everything needed for a comfortable cozy holiday, the enclosed garden was great for our dog, and the utility area good for drying him off before coming inside. We walked right from the front door up into the Dinorwic quarries, and up Snowdon. The bus interchange that can get to Pen y Pass and beyond is a short walk. An outstanding cottage in a great location.
