Take a gentle stroll on the sandy beach at Fairbourne (3 miles), roam the coastal path or climb Cader Idris (16 miles) in Snowdonia National Park. Enjoy the wildlife and waters of the Mawddach estuary (15.5 miles), board the steam train on the Talyllyn narrow-gauge historic railway (9 miles) or go underground in Corris Slate Mines (18 miles). Take the water taxi from Fairbourne to Barmouth or head to nearby Aberdovey, which offers a championship golf course, water sports activities from the harbour, shops, galleries and eateries. Enjoy culinary delights, independent shops and a host of events, all within 12 miles.
