About this property

Framed by the peaks of the Portes du Soleil and the alpine serenity of Montriond village, Chalet Grand-Duc offers an elegant escape for up to twelve guests. This five-bedroom chalet pairs sweeping mountain views with understated luxury, creating a refined retreat within minutes of Morzine and the Ardent cable car to Avoriaz.

Crafted in traditional timber and softened by warm, natural textures, the interiors balance alpine character with contemporary design. The open-plan living area is a social hub, where sunlight spills into the dining space and a sleek kitchen with a large island sets the tone for shared meals. Curl up on the vast corner sofa beside the fire, sip cocktails at the bar, or settle into the reading nook before movie night on the 110-inch cinema screen.

Outside, the pace slows. Mornings begin with coffee on the terrace as the sun climbs over the valley. Children can explore the garden and play area while grown-ups take to the pétanque court or enjoy a game of table tennis. After a day in the mountains, unwind in the jacuzzi or gather around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars.

Each bedroom offers a peaceful sanctuary with mountain views, natural wood beams and soft neutral tones. The master suite, Roc d’Enfer, opens onto a wide balcony and features a statement bathroom with walk-in shower and freestanding tub. Lindarets, on the main floor, is a stylish en-suite double, while the lower level includes three more bedrooms: a charming bunk room for four, a flexible twin or king-size room, and a queen-size double with its own bathroom and terrace access.

With thoughtful touches at every turn, from EV charging to family-friendly amenities, Chalet Grand-Duc is a place to reconnect, recharge and embrace the alpine rhythm of life.

The chalet is available year-round, but facilities, property and local amenities may vary depending upon season.

Summer | Alpine Chalet

July - September

In the summer, Chalet Grand-Duc transforms into a serene mountain getaway, offering a wide range of outdoor activities amidst stunning natural beauty. Guests can explore hiking trails, engage in family tournaments on the pétanque track, or enjoy a game of table tennis in the covered area. The terrace provides ample space for sunbathing on comfortable loungers or gathering for a barbecue in the garden. Children can play in the charming kids' area, while adults relax under the starry night sky at the outdoor fire pit. Inside, the chalet's stylish living space offers a cool respite from the summer heat, with plenty of natural light and mountain views. With its tranquil setting and luxurious amenities, Chalet Grand-Duc is the perfect destination for a summer mountain retreat.

Tucked into the peaceful village of Montriond, Chalet Grand-Duc enjoys a prime position in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, one of Europe’s largest and most scenic ski areas. Just a short drive from bustling Morzine, this quieter corner of the Alps offers glorious mountain views, plenty of sunshine, and a true sense of alpine escape.

Only 5km from the Ardent cable car, guests can reach the slopes of Avoriaz with ease. In winter and summer, a complimentary shuttle stops just 250m from the chalet, making mountain access seamless. From there, 600km of linked pistes unfold across France and Switzerland, with terrain to suit every level—from gentle green runs to thrilling red descents. Long lunches on sunny terraces and charming alpine restaurants scattered across the ski domain promise delicious interludes between adventures.

In warmer months, the landscape transforms into a paradise for hikers, cyclists and wild swimmers. A visit to Lake Montriond is a must, with its glassy emerald waters framed by cliffs and forest. Nearby Les Lindarets enchants with its summer herd of free-roaming goats and traditional chalets—an experience as charming as it is unexpected.

Whether gliding down snowy slopes or picnicking by the lake, Chalet Grand-Duc is the perfect base for exploring this extraordinary corner of the Alps in every season.

After staying in numerous luxury chalets over the years, Chalet Grand Duc stands out as the epitome of tasteful contemporary design. During our delightful week-long summer stay, we were captivated by its impeccable finishing and stylish furnishings. This brand new chalet exudes coziness, ensuring a wonderful experience throughout our stay. Every aspect, from the well-equipped kitchen to the inviting living area, luxurious bedrooms, elegant bathrooms, efficient laundry, and secure bike storage area, boasts the finest quality materials and appliances, making it a truly luxurious family boutique accommodation. The hosts, Tom & Mel, exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Their attention to detail and thoughtful touches made us feel instantly at home the moment we stepped in. We were eager to explore the charming surroundings of Montriond, Morzine & Les Gets, knowing we had a perfect retreat to return to.

We really enjoyed our stay here in July. The views are stunning and the chalet is amazing. The house owner and the manager was really helpful. The chalet was newly built and the interior design is great, they thought of every detail.

Chalet Grand Duc is a veritable gem, set away from the crowds of Morzine but only a 5 minute drive from the main ski lift to Lindarets (much better access than via Avoriaz) and into the Portes du Soleil ski area. The property oozes quality from the moment you set foot inside the chic reception floor. We had a wonderful weekend and Tom was a fantastic host. Our highlight was definitely the hot tub overlooking the valley after skiing. We would love to come back in the Summer for hiking and mountain biking!
