Inland, mountain villages and hiking trails promise adventure, while the wider region is rich in heritage, from Campomoro’s Genoese tower to the dramatic cliffs of Bonifacio.

Surrounded by granite outcrops, a sweeping view captures the raw beauty of the gulf. Carved into the rock, the house is perfectly located between Propriano and Porto Pollo on the south-west coast.
Just a 10-minute walk downhill, you'll discover a small crescent of sand bordered by rocks and lapped by turquoise water - this part of the coast is wonderful for snorkelling. A seafront restaurant (open seasonally) provides an idyllic spot for lunch with a view.
A short drive north brings you to Porto Pollo (7.5km), a relaxed seaside village popular for its water sports, laid-back cafés and marina vibe. In the other direction, Propriano (11km) is the nearest town and offers bustling harbour life, little shops and excellent restaurants serving fresh seafood and Corsican specialities.
For remote beach-lovers, the stunning Plage de Campomoro (26km) awaits, fringed by wild maquis and overlooked by a Genoese tower. Inland, the hilltop village of Olmeto (10km) is steeped in history and charm, with cobbled lanes, artisanal shops and panoramic views over the gulf. A little further afield, Sartène (28km) — known as “the most Corsican of Corsican towns” — enchants visitors with its medieval stone houses, rich heritage and vineyards.
Make a day of it and venture to Ajaccio (53km), Napoleon’s birthplace, with its bustling old town, museums, and vibrant market. Or head south to Bonifacio (74km), dramatically perched on limestone cliffs, where the citadel and harbour offer unforgettable vistas and a sense of historic grandeur.
