About this property

Surrounded by mature trees and expansive green space, Maison Jardin is a wonderfully relaxed home in the heart of the Périgord Noir. The true highlight here is the outdoor lifestyle, with a good-sized swimming pool, furnished terraces and a generous garden setting the scene for long summer days spent outdoors.

While the interiors are simple and functional, thoughtful touches of character and a slightly unconventional design give the home its own distinct personality. Step through the courtyard and into a bright, open living space designed for easy holiday living. A dining area sits alongside a fully equipped kitchen whilst on the same level, two double bedrooms offer restful accommodation, complemented by a spacious bathroom with a bathtub and a separate WC. Above the lounge, a mezzanine adds an extra dimension to the home, creating a flexible space for reading, relaxing or simply enjoying a little quiet time overlooking the balcony.

Outside, life revolves around the spacious grounds. Families can enjoy games of table tennis or you may prefer to settle with a glass of local wine after a long day making the most of the swimming pool. The south-east facing terrace, complete with a plancha grill, is perfect for leisurely lunches and al-fresco dinners as the warm Dordogne evenings unfold.

Maison Jardin enjoys an excellent location less than 2km from the lively market town of Le Bugue. From riverside canoeing on the Vézère to fascinating prehistoric sites in nearby Les Eyzies, the region offers endless opportunities for discovery. Beautiful villages such as Limeuil, Beynac-et-Cazenac and Saint-Cyprien are within easy reach, while Sarlat-la-Canéda’s celebrated medieval streets make for an unforgettable day out.

Whether you are seeking outdoor adventures, family attractions or a taste of Dordogne life, Maison Jardin places it all within easy reach.

Set in the Périgord Noir, Maison Jardin enjoys a superb location just outside the lively market town of Le Bugue, one of the Dordogne’s most family-friendly destinations. This is an ideal base for discovering the region’s rich heritage, picturesque villages, meandering rivers and a range of outdoor pursuits.

Le Bugue (1.7km) offers a welcoming and bustling atmosphere with cafés, restaurants and local shops, while its riverside setting adds to the charm (look out for summer canoeing and kayaking opportunities on the Vézère). Families are particularly well catered as the town is to a variety of popular attractions including Aquarium Périgord Noir and Le Parc du Bournat, both a short drive away.

The enchanting Vézère Valley and Les Eyzies (10km) are within easy reach, placing you at the heart of one of France’s most important prehistoric regions. Often referred to as the world capital of prehistory, Les Eyzies is home to remarkable archaeological sites and museums celebrating early human history. Around a 40-minute drive away, the impressive Lascaux International Center of Parietal Art offers a captivating insight into the famous prehistoric cave paintings, bringing this extraordinary heritage vividly to life.

Further south, the Dordogne River invites leisurely days discovering some of the region’s most beautiful villages. Limeuil (11km), where the Dordogne and Vézère rivers meet, is recognised as one of France’s ‘plus beaux villages’ and rewards visitors with charming streets and stunning viewpoints. Saint-Cyprien (13km) offers traditional markets and historic character, while Beynac-et-Cazenac (23km) enchants with its dramatic riverside castle and medieval architecture. For spectacular landscaped gardens and panoramic views across the Dordogne Valley, the renowned Marqueyssac Gardens (26km) are a must-visit.

No stay in this part of France would be complete without exploring Sarlat-la-Canéda (30km), one of the Dordogne’s most celebrated towns. Its beautifully preserved medieval centre, elegant golden-stone buildings and vibrant market atmosphere make it a wonderful destination for a day out, perfectly capturing the timeless charm of the region.
