Le Mas de Téjat is a joyful country home set on the edge of the small Dordogne village of Meyrals, close to Saint-Cyprien in the Périgord Noir. From the moment you arrive, the warmth of original stonework and contemporary styling invites you to unwind with family or friends. A short stroll brings you to the village with its restaurant and twice-weekly grocery van. Look out for the village’s Thursday morning market in July and August.
Inside, the house blends character with thoughtful touches. The open-plan living and dining room opens directly to the shaded terrace whilst the cosy kitchen and the fireplace add to the sense of home. Upstairs, discover four charming bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suite) as well as another shower room downstairs. Meanwhile, modern amenities include fibre-optic Wi-Fi and a Smart TV in the lounge.
Set within private grounds, there’s a great sense of space outside. The 13-metre pool shimmers in the sunlight, flanked by a sun terrace and fun summer kitchen, complete with a vibrant bar, fridge-freezer, oven and dishwasher - perfect for lazy lunches or evening drinks after a day exploring the region. We also love the pergola with its al-fresco dining table and barbecue set beside the house.
Less than a 10-minute drive from Saint-Cyprien, with its bakery, butcher, Sunday market and lively eateries, and only 16km from the cobbled charm of Sarlat-la-Canéda, you're perfectly placed to enjoy the best of the Dordogne. The dramatic clifftop château of Beynac, river canoeing, prehistoric wonders at Les Eyzies and the world-renowned caves of Lascaux are all close by.
Whether gathering for meals beneath the pergola or venturing out to nearby villages and riverbanks, Le Mas de Téjat offers a wonderful base from which to experience life in the Périgord Noir.
On the edge of the small village of Meyrals, Le Mas de Téjat offers a superb base for discovering the heart of the Dordogne, only a 20-minute drive from Sarlat-la-Canéda.
The house is located on a country lane just a very short walk from the village centre where there’s a restaurant and a weekly market every Thursday morning in July and August. A bread and grocery van calls in the village twice weekly on a Monday and Wednesday morning. Leisure facilities are also very close by, with tennis courts and a football pitch just a minute’s walk from the property.
A short 5km drive brings you to the bustling town of Saint-Cyprien, where you’ll find all the essentials: a bakery, butcher, supermarket, restaurants, bar and wine shop. The town comes alive on market days, with a lively Sunday morning market and a popular evening market on Thursdays during the summer.

Just 10 minutes away lies Les Eyzies (7.5km), known as the world capital of prehistory, with renowned museums and fascinating cliffside dwellings. Venture a little further to Montignac (26km) and explore the legendary Lascaux caves, a spectacular showcase of prehistoric art and one of France’s cultural treasures.
A 20-minute drive in the other direction leads you to the medieval gem of Sarlat-la-Canéda (16km), famed for its cobbled streets, vibrant markets (Wednesdays and Saturdays) and gourmet dining. The surrounding Périgord region is dotted with picture-perfect villages such as Belvès (18km), Domme (25km) and La Roque-Gageac (19km), while the Dordogne and Vézère rivers offer kayaking, swimming and riverside picnics under the summer sun.
