In the village of Argeliers, Maison Tigre places you in the midst of authentic southern French village life and just a short stroll from the Canal du Midi. The village is located between Béziers (28km) and Carcassonne (50km), both with international airports.
Close to rolling vineyards and within easy reach of both the Mediterranean coast and historic inland towns, this charming village offers the perfect balance of rural beauty and cultural richness. With its characterful streets, stone houses and warm community feel, Argeliers is a quintessential Languedoc village where daily life unfolds at a gentle pace. The house is set on a road near the edge of the village. From your doorstep, a short walk brings you to the café-bar, restaurant, two bakeries, a butcher, grocery store and the local tennis courts.
On the edge of the village lies the Canal du Midi, a unesco-listed waterway winding through shaded plane trees and tranquil countryside. Whether walking, cycling or dining beside its slow-moving waters, it’s a wonderful and serene experience.
Also by the Canal du Midi, nearby Capestang (10km) offers a lovely canal-side setting with lively restaurants, shops and useful supermarket. The traditional market takes place on a Wednesday and Sunday morning. In the other direction, the Tuesday morning market in Olonzac (16km) is also not to be missed.
