On the Giens Peninsula, Maison Chorale is a beautiful house just a leisurely stroll from the shores of the Mediterranean. This charming part of the French Riviera is known for its natural beauty, relaxed ambience and easy access to both idyllic bays and livelier seaside spots.
A pleasant walk (between 900m and 1.3km, depending which route you choose) along local lanes brings you to a picturesque bay, where summer days can be spent enjoying watersports like jet skiing, paddle boarding and kayaking in the clear blue waters or you may prefer to simply sit back and enjoy a cold drink at the casual cafe-restaurant (all facilities are seasonal).
A short drive from the villa, La Capte and the area around Plage La Bergerie offer further amenities, including a small handful of restaurants, shops and beach clubs. Meanwhile, nature lovers can explore the serene beauty of the nearby Étang des Pesquiers, a protected lagoon and bird reserve perfect for gentle walks and peaceful moments surrounded by coastal wildlife.
Beach enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with the long, sandy stretch of Plage de l'Almanarre just a few minutes to the north-west, famous for its windsurfing and kite surfing thanks to the peninsula’s favourable breezes. Meanwhile, La Tour Fondue (1km) at the southern tip of Giens is the departure point for ferries to the idyllic Îles d’Hyères, including Porquerolles – a car-free island paradise known for its turquoise bays, vineyards and pine forests.
For a change of pace, the historic town of Hyères (10km) offers a delightful day out, with its charming old quarter, vibrant markets and grand 19th-century villas that speak of a bygone era of Riviera glamour. To the west, the harbour town of Carqueiranne (13km) invites visitors to enjoy its laid-back atmosphere, weekly market, local fish restaurants and evening strolls along the promenade.
