Maison Marijo is on the edge of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, an artistic town located in Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park, only 22km from the historic city of Avignon.

It’s lovely to be able to stroll to the heart of Saint-Remy (1.5km) in around 15 to 20 minutes (no pavement for the first 600m or so). With its plane tree-lined boulevards, atmospheric squares and winding cobblestone lanes, this vibrant market town has long captivated artists, writers and travellers in search of beauty and authenticity. Don’t miss the wonderful bustling market on a Wednesday morning, a fantastic way to pick up a wealth of seasonal delights.

A very short distance away, the Site Archéologique de Glanum offers a fascinating glimpse into the town's Roman past, with its remarkably preserved ruins set against the distant mountains. Also nearby, the Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole invites reflection—it’s where Van Gogh painted some of his most iconic works during his stay in the late 19th century. Today, visitors can explore the monastery and surrounding gardens, retracing the artist’s steps through this deeply inspiring landscape.
