The pretty village, Vamos village is 25km from Chania, set in West Crete in the foothills of “The White Mountains.” Rethymno is only 35km distance, and the capital city of Crete Heraklion is 135km away. Vamos is in a semi-mountainous spot, 300m above sea level, yet only a few kilometres to the sea.
Known for its compelling architectural heritage, Vamos draws visitors for its preserved traditional stone road, sublime painted Chapels of Virgin Mary (dating to the 13th century), and Karidi Monastery which boasts a spectacular original olive press with 12 arches.

Beautiful location with stunning views of the sea and the mountains. Welcoming local village with lovely places to eat within 20 min walk (overall car advised for exploring the region). Fantastic large, deep pool, well-equipped villa. Excellent communication from Giorgos who met us to let us in despite our late arrival time. Very helpful advice & friendliness. Overall highly recommended.

We loved the villa. It was well-equipped, super clean and very comfortable. We used the villa as a base to visit beaches and the local towns so a car was a must. There’s so much to see and do within a 45 minute radius. Having the pool is a massive bonus too. We spent many hours messing about and relaxing in it.

We have stayed in Vamos several times, but this villa had the best view, the best facilities, a brilliant pool (we are really fussy about a good-sized pool). the area was quiet, and easy to reach, with local bakery and shops. The view was fabulous, sitting on the veranda on an evening drinking local wine, watching the glowing red sunsets over the bay, with a gentle cooling breeze blowing from the sea.
