Set in the countryside near the north coast of Crete in the Aegean Sea, Villa Vari is a contemporary four-bedroom retreat designed for up to eight guests. Villa Vari is set in the Cretan countryside with magnificent mountain views, in the small village of Varipetron near the north coast of Crete in the Aegean Sea. The villa is eighteen kilometres from Chania International Airport. Varipetron is a four hundred metre walk through orange, lemon and olive groves. For provisions, the nearest village with minimarkets is two and a half kilometres away, while the town of Chania is eight kilometres from the villa, offering a wide selection of supermarkets and shops. Wander the narrow streets of Chania’s Old Town down to the Venetian harbour and its sixteenth-century lighthouse.
Visit the Nautical and Archaeological Museums, stroll through the Municipal Gardens, and enjoy freshly caught fish at a waterfront restaurant. Five beaches lie within a ten-kilometre radius. Glaros offers a secluded sandy shore ideal for snorkelling; Stalos has an organised golden beach and mini golf; Kalamaki features white sands with sun loungers, umbrellas and lifeguards; Agios Apostoli is known for its clear waters; and crescent-shaped Yannis is perfect for swimming and exploring hidden caves.
A short drive leads to Souda port and the ancient site of Aptera. Explore caves, hike through ravines to discover watermills and ruins, or visit a local winery. Travel further to Heraklion to see the Palace of Knossos and its Archaeological Museum, or venture east to Vai, Psychro Cave and Sitia Geopark to experience Crete’s remarkable landscapes and history.
