About this property

A lovely 3-bedroom holiday home sitting right by Lothiarika Beach, Villa Pefkos enjoys a dream location on Rhodes’ southern coast. With Lardos and Lindos within a 10-minute drive, there is plenty to see and do in the local area, and this villa is well equipped too – featuring outdoor pool and dining terraces.

You really can step straight from the terrace on to the beach at Villa Pefkos. Open and covered seating areas, a dining area and barbecue offer lots of opportunities to eat and drink in the sunshine, while the outdoor pool and sun loungers are irresistible. The main outdoor dining space enjoys an amazing view of the ocean and has seating for eight.

Inside the house, you’ll find a spacious, open-plan area incorporating the lounge, dining area and kitchen. Subtly styled, the lounge area has comfortable sofas, a fireplace, flat-screen TV and coffee table. The formal dining area is complemented by a more casual one in the kitchen, where you have a microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and all the essential appliances.

The villa can sleep up to eight guests, with two of the three bedrooms featuring large double beds, one of which also has an en suite shower room. The third has twin beds, while sofa-beds in the lounge can accommodate two people. The bedrooms are kept comfortable with air-conditioning and have plenty of storage space. A family bathroom with large shower completes the picture.

The villa is just a short drive from the local amenities in Pefkos, where there are supermarkets, bars and restaurants, and from Lindos, where you will find a significant local landmark, the Lindos Acropolis.

Rhodes offers all sorts of ways to enjoy the great outdoors. You can make an excursion to the beautiful Epta Piges nature reserve with its seven springs, or the enchanting The Valley of the Butterflies, as well as countless beaches on the coast up to Rhodes town. The eponymous capital of the island has a great deal of entertainment, impressive historic sights like the Palace of the Grand Masters and wonderful views, so be sure to make the journey to discover it.

The Greek island of Rhodes may be great for beaches and nightlife, but there is a lot more to discover as well. From the capital which shares the island’s name in the north, to the stunning Prasonisi beach in the south, Rhodes is a real discovery.

Head for the impressive Old Town in Rhodes, one of the largest and best-preserved medieval cities in Europe. The Palace of the Grand Masters is the main attraction of this impressive unesco World Heritage site, and a walk around the old city walls will reward you with beautiful scenery along the way. If you fancy uncovering some local history, visit The Museum of Modern Greek Art or the Archaeological Museum.

There are a few more intriguing museums around the island, including the Toy Museum near the village of Archipoli, with displays of Greek toys of the last century. Also look out for The Bee Museum of Rhodes, where there are fascinating exhibitions on bee-related themes. Rhodes town also has a good aquarium.

Also well worth a visit is the Valley of the Butterflies. It’s particularly lovely in summer when hordes of colourful butterflies appear. You may like to combine your visit with a trip to the Epta Piges (Seven Springs), about 35 minutes’ drive south. The springs flow into a lake you can swim in, and the setting really is magical.

Down the coast from Rhodes town, Faliraki offers a family-friendly beach and a water-park, great for a day out with the kids. If it’s just you, maybe try the idyllic Anthony Quinn Bay, a very pretty beach with crystal clear waters that are ideal for snorkelling.

Rhodes has many more beaches down the eastern coast – you’ll pass through the likes of Afantou, Archangelos, Agathi and Lindos as you travel south – but one of the most spectacular is found right at the tip of the island. Prasonisi is particularly popular with surfers, but the wonderful surroundings and expansive sands draw in plenty of other visitors too.

The nightlife options are most varied in the centres of Rhodes and Lindos. As well as bars and nightclubs, you can find some excellent restaurants, many with outdoor terraces and appealing views. For the daytime, Rhodes is ideal for sports and offers all sorts of activities, like horse riding, scuba-diving and beach volleyball. Fantastic walking and cycling routes, not to mention the excellent weather for them, offer yet more reasons to get out there.

The location is out of the way. Right on the beach, very quiet. Great outdoor area with own small pool - but enough for freshening up. Very friendly and reliable landlords. The house was very clean. The house is air conditioned in all rooms if you like it. In a heatwave like ours, at least for a short run stay very good. The place is ankle-like; Taverns and supermarkets just a few hundred meters. But the place offers, apart from the above, not much. If you want bars and a party you are disappointed - at least in the year 2020. There are some larger hotels at the beginning of the village, but they are far enough away from the house and do not stomp. The location to Lindos is perfect - about 10 min by car. Very good starting point to explore the Sueden, East and West of Rhodes. even Rhodes town is well suited for sightseeing with an hour's drive.

This comfortable and clean villa is in a perfect location - right on the beach, on the edge of the dry and sandy beach. About 50 yards (in old money) to an area of the sea which is surrounded by rocks, and creates a 2-3ft deep pool ideal for kids (and adults) to dip into, and which is warmed by the sun. A channel through the rocks leads you out onto a deeper (and slightly cooler) area (but still only around 4-5 ft) - then deeper if you want it. Snorkeling in these areas is good fun - plenty of small shoals of fish of different colours and types including what we called 'goggle-eyed fish' :-), and a few shells and pebbles of various sorts to collect. The villa itself was very clean, well equipped with glasses, plates, pans etc and very 'beach house' style - not plush or fancy but comfortable and well thought-through, exactly on theme for the location i.e. right on the beach. There is plenty of electrical equipment - hairdryers, coffee machine, sandwich toaster, kettle, microwave, etc. There are 3 bedrooms, one en-suite double and one double plus one twin - and we also used the lounge where there were two sofa beds which made a huge double. All sheets, towels, beach towels, tea towels and cloths were provided and very clean. Outside there's a good sized table and then a further settee/chairs, and more comfy chairs with an umbrella, plus a number of sun-loungers. Facilities nearby include a supermarket within 200 yards, which sells fresh bread and pastries, and all the basics, fruit, vegetables, cheese etc - and the essential beach equipment, plus a beach bar and swimming pool in the James Hotel, which you can use - free sun-loungers and a good pool, plus serving excellent snacks and meals from 8 am including either full English or full Greek breakfast! Another 50 yards and there are more bars/restaurants and supermarkets - and a short drive towards Lindos there is a large supermarket.
