About this property

Tucked into the rugged hillsides of Andros with the shimmering Aegean Sea stretching out below, Villa Vitali is a handsome five bedroom hideaway that feels deeply in tune with its surroundings. Set over three spacious levels, this island home radiates character, comfort and an unhurried charm that invites you to truly unwind. Crafted from local stone and accented with traditional wooden features, the villa merges Cycladic authenticity with coastal elegance.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a bright and airy living space. High ceilings and generously sized windows allow sunlight to pour in, illuminating terracotta tiled floors and cool stone walls. The open plan layout draws you through a snug seating area complete with fireplace, into a sociable dining space and a country style kitchen with everything you might need to whip up breakfast or an evening mezze feast. Just beyond, the veranda beckons, a serene spot to enjoy coffee with sunrise, or a glass of wine as the colours of dusk wash over the Aegean horizon.

Each of the five bedrooms has been designed with rest and relaxation in mind, four double rooms and a twin, all decorated in soft neutrals, natural textures and with sea views never too far from sight. Four bathrooms ensure comfort for groups and families travelling together, while thoughtful details such as traditional artwork and rustic wood furniture create a warm, lived in feel.

Outdoors, Villa Vitali truly shines. Terraced gardens and shaded verandas provide a perfect flow of open air lounging, while a private pathway leads gently down the hill to a lovely sandy beach. It’s a place where you’ll feel the rhythm of the island, the breeze through the trees, the clink of cutlery at a nearby taverna, and the distant sound of the sea rolling gently onto the shore.

Although quiet and peaceful, Villa Vitali is not cut off, the charming town of Hora is just a short drive away, while the nearby village of Stenies offers a glimpse into authentic Greek island life. Whether you’re here to explore, recharge or simply take in the ever changing blues of sea and sky, Villa Vitali is the kind of place that’s hard to leave.

Villa Vitali enjoys an idyllic spot on the verdant island of Andros, one of the Cyclades’ best kept secrets. Tucked into a quiet hillside just outside the traditional village of Stenies, this welcoming villa is ideally placed to offer peaceful seclusion and easy access to some of the island’s best-loved spots.

Stenies itself is a slow paced gem, a place of narrow paths, whitewashed homes and bursts of bougainvillaea that spill over stone walls. It’s a short walk from the villa and provides a wonderful introduction to the island’s slower rhythm. Just up the hill, you’ll find a small, welcoming taverna, perfect for unfussy local meals and hearty Greek dishes served with a smile.

One of the villa’s most prized features is its private pedestrian path down to a sandy beach, a safe, sheltered cove that’s ideal for swimming, snorkelling or simply settling down with a good book. There’s even a relaxed beach bar tucked away for those in need of a refreshing drink in between dips in the sea.

Just 4 km down the road lies Hora, Andros’s capital and cultural heart. This charming town brims with art, heritage and style. You’ll find boutiques, bakeries and stylish restaurants tucked among old churches and neoclassical mansions. Don’t miss the Museum of Contemporary Art, which houses works by international and Greek artists, or the Archaeological Museum, a window into Andros’s long and fascinating past.

Andros is a walker’s paradise, and Villa Vitali is a great jumping off point for exploring the island’s well maintained trails. These marked routes take you through olive groves, waterfalls and ancient footpaths that once connected sleepy hamlets and monasteries. The Andros Route, a European award winning trail network, showcases the island’s natural beauty in all its forms.

For everyday essentials, Hora provides supermarkets, bakeries, banks and all the amenities you may need, while the port of Gavrio (around 40 km away) connects you to the mainland and other islands. A car is recommended for getting around with ease, though much of the magic of Andros can be found simply by wandering, be it through cobbled lanes, terraced hillsides or quiet, pine fringed beaches.
