Villa Maradessa is a five-bedroom stone-built villa located in the Melissaki area, offering views across the Aegean Sea and the surrounding coastline. Set across two levels, the villa combines spacious indoor living areas with outdoor terraces, a private seawater swimming pool and direct access to the sea. Its west-facing position provides views of the sunset, while the layout offers a combination of shared spaces and independent accommodation.
The main level of the villa features an open-plan living and dining area, alongside a fully equipped kitchen. Large openings allow natural light into the interior and provide views of the sea. This level accommodates three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a queen-size bed, sea views and an en-suite bathroom. A second bedroom features a king-size bed and a private bathroom, while the third has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom.
Outside, the main terrace provides space for dining, relaxing and enjoying the coastal surroundings. The private seawater swimming pool is accompanied by sun loungers and comfortable seating areas, while an outdoor kitchen, barbecue and dining area offer facilities for preparing and enjoying meals outdoors. An exterior shower is also available.
One level below the main house are two independent suites, built into the natural rock formation and accessed through their own private entrances. Each suite features a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom and sea views, which can be enjoyed directly from the bedrooms. Both suites also have access to sea-facing terraces, providing additional outdoor space and privacy away from the main living areas.
A distinctive feature of Villa Maradessa is its direct access to the sea via steps carved into the rocks, allowing guests to reach the water without leaving the property. For those wishing to explore the surrounding coastline, boat cruises and transfers may also be arranged through the owner, who has a 13-metre motorboat and a RIB boat, subject to availability and additional charges.
With five bedrooms distributed between the main house and two independent suites, Villa Maradessa provides a practical arrangement for families or groups travelling together who would also appreciate having their own private spaces. Its coastal setting, outdoor facilities and direct sea access make it a suitable base for a stay on the island.
Villa Maradessa is located in the Melissaki area on the western coast of Kea, one of the Cycladic islands in the Aegean Sea. Known for its natural landscapes, traditional villages and relatively unspoilt coastline, Kea offers a quieter alternative to some of the more popular Greek islands. Melissaki is a peaceful coastal area characterised by rocky hillsides, Mediterranean vegetation and views across the sea, particularly towards the sunset.
The nearby port town of Korissia, also known as Livadi, offers a selection of waterfront tavernas, cafés, shops and essential amenities. A short distance away, Vourkari is a picturesque fishing village and marina known for its seafood restaurants, waterfront dining and relaxed atmosphere. Visitors can also explore several beaches along the island's western coastline, including Gialiskari and Otzias, both popular for swimming and spending time by the sea.
Further inland, the island's capital, Ioulida, is a traditional hillside village with narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, local shops and tavernas. The village provides an opportunity to experience the island's history and local culture, while its elevated position offers views across the surrounding countryside.
Kea is also known for its extensive network of walking trails, many of which follow ancient routes connecting traditional settlements, archaeological sites and secluded beaches. Visitors can explore the ancient city of Karthea, discover quiet coves or enjoy boat excursions around the coastline.
Easily accessible by ferry from Lavrio on the Greek mainland, Kea combines traditional Cycladic character with a convenient location close to Athens. Its combination of coastal scenery, local dining, walking routes and quieter beaches makes it an appealing destination for those looking to explore a less developed part of the Greek islands.
