About this property

Santorini Olive is a masterpiece of contemporary cool. It is a brilliant architectural gem that has been cleverly and naturally built into a fabulous landscape. Its angles, curves and superb use of materials are jaw-dropping. Santorini Olive has been built on a gently sloping site on an exclusive estate surrounded by vineyards. Facing south towards the turquoise Aegean Sea, the views from its numerous terraces and rooms are phenomenal. You will be genuinely mesmerised and return home with magical memories. The villa is comprised of different parts and offers eight sensational bedrooms in total. It is perfect for groups of friends or a multi-generational family that may appreciate some private, peaceful moments and enjoy exceptional entertaining spaces together. Santorini Olive is absolutely stunning, with earth-toned plaster applied to the villa’s exterior and dazzling white plaster and white mosaic throughout the interior.

Santorini Cactus is located on the outskirts of Pyrgos, a characterful hilltop village that sits on the top of a volcanic crater where you will be mesmerised by the island’s fantastic, varied landscapes. Its winding lanes fan out from the remains of a Venetian castle, offering a wonderful array of traditional tavernas, whitewashed houses and churches with blue-domed roofs. Its 10th-century Church of Theotokaki enjoys stunning frescoes. The sunset views from Pyrgos are spectacular. Santorini’s intoxicating mix of captivating beaches, seductive vistas and fabulous entertainment offers a super holiday. The island is blessed with spectacular scenery and a magnificent coastline and is sprinkled with characterful, traditional white and blue-painted buildings as well as significant olive groves and vineyards. Visitors enjoy delicious cuisine, truly fascinating geology and blissful beach days. The island’s capital Fira is close by with its cosmopolitan bars, trendy restaurants and boutiques and the Blue Flag sandy beaches of Kamari and Perissa are within easy reach. The famous Red Beach near Akrotiri, with its soaring red lava cliffs, is just twenty minutes south.

Santorini Cactus’ clean lines and cool vibe will encourage you to embrace the calm. The villa is chic, effortlessly stylish with its minimalist design and oozes luxury. It boasts plenty of windows and doors that let in the unique sparkle of the Santorini light. The clever use of natural wood, marble, rusted steel, cement, plaster and clay makes it feel very natural and inviting.

The main villa offers four bedrooms, a gorgeous living space, a stunning contemporary kitchen, an office space, three bathrooms, a wellness room and a separate living area. The main entrance on the ground floor leads you into your fabulous living area with its phenomenal sea views, gorgeous mosaic floors, sumptuous modern sofas and a handmade marble coffee table. Doors open to a large terrace and pool area. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with outstanding appliances. You may consider hiring a private chef for several meals during your holiday. If you want to dine alfresco, there are doors that take you directly to a beautiful spot on the terrace. The upper floor boasts three fabulous bedrooms. The master enjoys a beautifully dressed king-size bed, a television and a balcony with fantastic sea and pool views, the perfect spot for your morning cup of coffee. The second bedroom offers a luxurious queen size bed, a television and another balcony with sea views. The third room is equally stunning and enjoys a queen size bed adorned with lux linens, a television and a terrace with views of the land behind the villa. Two pristine bathrooms with powerful showers will entice you to take your time. The lower floor enjoys the bonus of a wellness room with a large hot tub, gym equipment and another sitting area with a smart television. The fourth bedroom is found here with its comfy queen size bed and bathroom.

The equally charming adjacent guest house offers three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a private pool. An open plan area enjoys a bedroom corner with a queen size bed and a living area to the front that leads to the terrace. A staircase leads to an attic with a queen size bed, and the main stairs lead you to the lower level, where the third double bedroom offers an ensuite bathroom with a shower and an indoor hot tub. It is a room for some serious shut-eye. There is also a second family bathroom where you can indulge with a steam bath, a shower, and his and hers sinks.

Santorini Olive is a magnificent contemporary masterpiece on private grounds on a small exclusive estate in the hilltop village of Pyrgos Kallistis in the foothills of Mount Profitis Ilias. Pyrgos is surrounded by vineyards that produce the famous Assytiko white wines. Pyrgos Kallistis is charming, with narrow, characterful medieval alleys lined with atmospheric wine bars, traditional tavernas, galleries and gorgeous boutiques. Its Santorini of the Past Museum explores traditional island life. Winding lanes fan out from the remains of its Venetian castle, brimming with whitewashed houses and beautiful churches. Guests staying in this dreamy village enjoy some of the island’s best sunsets. Though Pyrgos is an inland village, you are always close to a volcanic beach. The Blue Flag brilliance of Kamari and Perissa beaches will only take you fifteen minutes in the car. Twenty minutes south takes you to the famous Red Beach of Akrotiri. It is very easy to explore the whole island from this superb location.

Santorini is the most southern of the Cyclade islands, an island of beauty and historical and geological interest. The island’s west coast ends in a steep precipice and lagoon, known as a caldera, between three and four hundred metres deep and up to three hundred metres high with dramatic cliffs. The lagoon was created by a huge volcanic eruption over three thousand six hundred years ago. The island’s most famous attraction is the Nea Kameni volcano which sits in the middle of the lagoon.

The charming villages of Vothonas and Messaria are within easy reach of the villa. Vothonas offers a beautiful sense of serenity and several notable churches and chapels worth visiting for their distinct architecture. Built in a steep gorge, many of its buildings are cave houses the villagers built by carving into the volcanic rocks. You will love wandering through its narrow alleys. The Church of Agios Roussos is built of pumice stones on a rock, and the oldest village church is the Church of Agia Anna, built in 1827. Vothonas boasts a fascinating Wine Museum six metres below ground in a cave. You will learn about the history and process of winemaking on the island of Santorini and enjoy a wine-tasting experience. Just outside Vothonas is the Church of Panagia Sergena, which is carved into a big volcanic rock. Messaria is a beautiful village with amazing, distinctive architecture and an incredible array of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. Part of Messaria is built on the caldera with exclusive views of the volcano and the dazzling Aegean Sea. Messaria dates back to the 17th century, and in the 19th century, it was the industrial centre of the island, brimming with cave houses and mansions. Today, the manor houses of Argyros, Markezinis and Saliveros, which still stand in the village, are the landmarks of Messaria. The mansion of Argyros was partly destroyed by the earthquake but later restored and made into a museum. Messaria is a lovely place surrounded by lush olive groves and vineyards.

The larger towns of Fira, Oia, Imerovigli and Firostefani boast an impressive range of restaurants. Fira is Santorini’s capital. It is located on the island’s western edge, within very easy reach of the Santorini Sea, opposite the volcano and the two volcanic islands Palaia Kammeni and Nea Kammeni. Fira is beautiful and enjoys excellent nightlife and fabulous shopping. The Megaro Gyzi Cultural Center presents a variety of collections and hosts regular cultural events. There are several museums and two cathedrals. The restored Catholic cathedral enjoys a peach-coloured exterior while the inside is covered in magical frescoes.

Many of the island’s beaches are made of pebbles and volcanic rock. You will enjoy stunning views, watersports and excellent beachside bars and restaurants. In the south, you will discover the sandy Perissa Beach and in the north, Monolithos. Near Akrotiri, the Red Beach is very popular, named after its volcanic cliffs, which look beautiful against the deep blue sea. Akrotiri is also known for its lighthouse and ruins, now housed in an archaeological centre. Those that enjoy the fresh air and hiking are in for a real treat. At 565m, the island’s highest point is the summit of the Profitis Elias mountain, where there is a monastery. You can also make the steep ascent to Ancient Thera from Perissa.
