The small picturesque village of Leenane is nestled at the head of Killary Harbour in County Galway. Killary harbour stretches ten miles inland and is cradled by steep mountains on either side providing some of Ireland's most stunning scenery. Often referred to as the ‘Gateway to Connemara’, Leenane is where the roads to Maam Cross, Clifen and Westport all meet, making it a fantastic touring base for Connemara and Mayo. Walking, mountain climbing and cycling are amongst the most popular activities in this region alongside fishing in the local Erriff and Delphi Rivers. Some well known beauty spots include Aesleagh Falls and Doolough Valley, and from Leenane, the Connemara National Park, the stunning Renvyle Peninsula and the popular towns of Clifden and Westport are all within easy reach.
