Ballinderreen 1.5 miles. An excellent, single-storey, semi-detached cottage just outside the village of Ballinderreen. The property is situated on an inlet of Galway Bay known as Brandy Harbour, which overlooks the Burren Mountains, in the centre of Oyster Country. Well finished throughout, this property is an ideal destination for those who want to escape everyday life, relax and explore the west coast of Ireland. All on the ground floor, with two good-sized bedrooms, guests enter into the open plan living area where there is a well-equipped kitchen for preparing delicious meals that can be enjoyed at the table or in front of the solid fuel stove in the sitting area, ideal for a quiet evening in. Alternatively, guests can sit in the sun room and enjoy the summer sun while the children run around in the garden. Why not go and explore the nearby area and take in that fresh sea air, perhaps going for a walk down to the waters edge to see who can find the most oysters? A little down the road is the village of Kilcolgan, home to the Moran Oyster Cottage, a thatched cottage dating back over 250 years and now offering freshly-caught seafood. Everything we could need was provided for us so that we felt comfortable as soon as we walked in; so much so that we were loath to leave at the end of our stay! We loved the peaceful setting, the beauty of the surrounding area, and the ease of visiting the nearby villages and Galway City - it really was the perfect break for us! An absolute gem as far as we are concerned!
