Guests say

Guests are enchanted by The Lake House's stunning views, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful touches like fresh bread and decorations. The property's location in County Sligo offers beautiful scenery and proximity to local attractions. While some minor cleanliness and maintenance issues were noted, the overall experience is highly praised, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property generally meets expectations for cleanliness, though some guests mentioned cobwebs and a minor issue with a shower leak. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a trend, suggesting good overall cleanliness with room for improvement.

The location is consistently lauded for its breathtaking views and proximity to local woods, lakes, and towns. It is described as peaceful and perfect for exploring the natural beauty of County Sligo.

Guests find the house comfortable, with special mentions of cosy touches and comfortable beds. However, some guests noted that certain mattresses were too soft, indicating a slightly varied experience in comfort.

The house is well-equipped with a variety of utensils and amenities. Issues like a leaky shower and a suggestion for more indoor games during rainy weather indicate that while facilities are generally excellent, there is some room for improvement in maintenance and entertainment options.

Guests appreciate the thoughtful gestures such as the provision of starter packs for the wood burning stove and fresh bread. While these gifts enhance the experience, it is important to note that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed.

The views from the house are amazing overlooking Lough Gill, surrounding woods and Benbulbin which views change with the weather and the location is so peaceful. The house contains everything you need and so much more. Enjoyed dining and relaxing inside and outside the house. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Lovely wooded walks, Rosses Point, Strandhill and Sligo town close by and many other activities and places to enjoy in the area. Our family would be very happy to return for another holiday at the Lake House. It was one of the best holiday experiences we have had together as a family and delighted we booked through Sykes. My family and I would happily recommend The Lake House to other guests.

Plenty of space for 8 people. Almost too many utensils etc...we kept finding new items. Some of the mattresses were rather soft. We had a problem with the hot water which was solved promptly by Brian - many thanks. Unfortunately we had almost continuous rain...as this area is renown for its wetness, a drying room would have been useful. Also some indoor games like table football to keep the kids amused. The joining instructions from Sykes were out of date and caused a bit of panic before arrival.
