About this property

Sitting on an established estate, on the outskirts of the village of Doonbeg, County Clare, is this charming, detached home, 29 Church Field. Just a short drive away from a long, sandy beach and offering a garden for alfresco dining in the summer months, this single-storey property is ideal for both families and friends. Be greeted by off-road parking before stepping inside to discover the entrance hallway with tiled floors and pine doorways. Locate the open-plan living space; here you can sink into the sofa with a cup of tea as the TV plays your favourite shows. When stomachs start to rumble, conjure a home-cooked meal in the well-appointed kitchen, with an electric oven and hob to assist you. Settle down at the dining table to enjoy mealtimes as a family or if the sun is shining, head out onto the large lawn and savour a cold beverage. As the evening cools, retire inside and make use of the handy utility room to wash and dry your holiday clothes, ensuring that you don't run out of outfits! When sleep calls, choose between three pleasant bedrooms, including a double with an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe and two twin bedrooms with ample storage space. Begin the day with a bubble-bath in the contemporary bathroom or take a hot rinse before joining your guests in the social space for a morning coffee. A short stroll will lead you to a flurry of eateries to fuel your day, as well as lively pubs playing Irish music; there are also fine courses for a game of golf! Be sure to visit the golden sands of Doughmore Beach to soak in the sights of the Atlantic Ocean, or explore the hidden gem of Pollock Holes, where you can swim in clear water. Venture into the coastal town of Kilrush, which offers boat trips so you can go dolphin watching, West Coast Aqua Park for some family fun and The Museum of Irish Rural life. For a wonderful escape to County Clare, stay at 29 Church Field.

Doonbeg (little fort) is a community in County Clare that grew up around the ruins of Doonbeg Castle, which was built in the 16th century. The hamlet and surrounding area have an excellent selection of bars (many of which play traditional Irish music), and golfers may play Greg Norman's Doonbeg Golf Club Course at Doughmore, which is among the best in the world. Local walks showcase the area's natural beauty, or go horseback riding along the white sand beaches. Surfing is popular at Doughmore Strand and Spanish Point, while boat cruises to see dolphins are available in Kilrush and Carrigaholt.

Herzlichen Dank

Lovely bungalow, very spacious and the facilities were excellent. Only little issue I found was the mattress in the main bedroom. It was too hard and very uncomfortable. Other than that, top marks.

  • Maria

Plenty of room to move about .good for people with mobility issues, except showers .only negative is the beds were uncomfortable.
